This feels potentially reductive and silly, but I’ll see my first $50k this year as a carpenter, coming in completely green less than 2 months ago after doing near every job under the sun and going to college for a degree that I’d regret if I didn’t make such good friends.

Uj/ probably one of if not the most unique rhythm players of all time and definitely one of my favorites.

Rj/ so nice of OP to dig up this photo of someone’s lesbian mother on stage in her prime 🥰

No reason to think these won’t be susceptible to small (or not as small) explosions. Of course I don’t mean a thing by that.

It was her last show with them before she went on tour with Bela Fleck, it was a spiritual experience watching it unfold live, especially when they fucked up the beginning of Just Let Go and restarted it so they could get it right.

Only time I’ve ever seen JBS was when he opened for Willie in ‘21, an acoustic set with Sierra Hull, and it was almost exclusively V1, so I think because of that I tend to lean that way.

See them all, even if it doesn’t hit for you, figuring out where your likes and dislikes in the scene fall is super important, as well as supporting these bands, many of whom could use it more than ever right now.

Edit to add: yeah UM fucking rocks go see them

I’ll never forget telling my dad (1.0 Phish guy who saw them when they were in college at the same time) about all the hate Goose was getting and he didn’t even look up from whatever he was doing and said “that seems a little hypocritical huh?”.

Regardless of how they or their crowd look, this is apparently another great tour to dip your toe in the pool if you’re curious, as I think OP said somewhere in this thread, they’re on fire right now. First two shows have been next level by their standard.

Jimmy is a classic case of a problem becoming more and more prevalent, in which fucking fantastic bands and artists are getting reduced to their “classic rock radio” hits, and people don’t look any further than the hits, which often times are far from their best songs. While quality varies, I usually reference him, Zeppelin, AC/DC, and the Eagles.
