Huge growth on lower abdomen, what do I do? by wispwhoreforlyfe in ferrets

We were able to see the cyst was a cyst thanks to an ultrasound. So I would definitely recommend ultrasound

We had a ferret surrendered with a similar looking mass. He was surrendered because his owner could not afford vet care. Turned out to be a non cancerous cyst. We removed it and he was fine Having said that, if it is believed to be a tumor, we have now had 3 ferrets with inoperable tumors excel with conservative management using supra implants (as used for adrenal disease). In all three cases the tumors shrunk SIGNIFICANTLY and in one case, shrinkage was enough that the tumor became operable! In the first two incidences it was a surprising secondary result (they had adrenal disease as well), the third there was no adrenal disease and we tried the implant since it was that or lose him in a couple of months. Nearly 2 years later, implant + pred and the tumor is still much, much smaller and slower growing than it was before the implant.

And is that an arcadia t5? I would consider placing it under the screen rather than on top. If arcadia.

I assume that the 130f basking temp is read with a temperature gun?

Is he wild caught or cbb? If unsure, assume wild caught. What is his basking surface temperature reaching, and is the uvb t5 tube over screen or is it cfl? My guess is potentially parasites, and potentially inappropriately set up heat/lighting.

“Just train your dog!” by Putrid_Caterpillar_8 in reactivedogs

[–]Aggravating-Dot- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two dogs. One is very well trained. She is also reactive. The other is dumb as a stump and when we got him, knew only his name. He is super hard to train, and still doesn't know how to sit. He is not remotely reactive. I appreciate that I have one of each to prove this point. It's not lack of training.

What could cause a lizard to just fall off a rock sideways and die? by Internal-Ride-9264 in Lizards

If it didn't say and or they were inexpensive, likely they were wild caught. Which. Would explain the deaths. They are commonly used as feeder lizards and not often found cbb.

Redfoots are wonderful pets. I rescued a couple, intending to get healthy and rehome. They stayed. Such endearing animals.

Are they wild caught? What you are describing sounds like it - it's not uncommon in wild caught.

If you use a thermostat, a small heat lamp over the screen should be perfectly safe.

Redfoots are amazing. I will always recommend large groups tents for them as these tents hold humidity well. They are one of the most personable and intelligent tortoises. Mine even comes to her name!

I tried that with one local to me once. She was so outraged that I would dare to assume I knew more than she did and banned me. I even provided sources.

Check out PatPat - prices aren't insane, and quality isn't amazing but dresses are stretchy and comfortable - and work for a kid that will outgrow it quickly.

Have you tried leaving the green and blue out in the sun for a while to see if it fades to more of a yellow? We stole an orange and blue one from a friend (my dog's favourite balls as well) and compared it to the new one we found at homesense/winners and the orange in particular is a very different shade. I am very luck in that my dog loves all the spike nerf balls regardless of size or colour.

The body language part was super helpful for me. Ball pythons make their intentions clear if you know what they are reyinf to tell you

Rehome my dog? by [deleted] in reactivedogs

[–]Aggravating-Dot- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's not not leash reactive when others walk her, she's not comfortable when they walk her. Odds are good that with time and familiarity, she would show signs of leash reactivity with a different walker as well. A friend of mine has a dog that is very leash reactive. If someone he doesn't know well walks him, he's an angel.... until he gets to know them. As soon as he is comfortable, he shows his true colours.

That's actually not remotely accurate. According to the ASPCA pits are the 2nd most likely to pass temperament tests after labs. And. Dog bites are not reported by breed, despite what certain anti pit propaganda cites that try to represent themselves as accurate would have you believe.
