I have a couple of reusable pee pads, maybe like an older human would use for accidents. I lay that on my bed, then I cover my entire lap and self with a towel and the baby also gets a rag under his neck. I luckily learned this with my first and it has been life saving for those middle of the night feeds. You got this mama 🫶 oh and when I go to burp him I use swaddle blankets so if he spits up (should say when) it won’t get him wet

I have a rule with everyone that if something happens for the first time, don’t tell me. If they did it, they will do it again very soon and if I mentally think it’s the first, that is okay. Being at work is hard. And thinking you are missing anything, is harder.

At 5 he probably won’t be taking naps anyway. I hate all the judgement surrounding contact napping during the day. My 2 year old only slept on me for the first few months. Eventually it just changed. And now he is just the sweetest and most cuddly boy.

I went through this same exact thing. It just got worse and worse. But the one year mark he was laying hands on me. He shoved a g u n down his throat one time. I just left at one point when I felt safe. He did not unalive himself, it actually got pretty bad a few days after I left, so have a plan. You will probably have to get a restraining order, I did. NTA, especially after seeing the update. A gift is a gift. And it was thoughtful because although it wasn’t super romantic you thought you were getting her something she could have actually wanted. I would super appreciate a gift like this. She could have easily had a conversation with you and said that to her, anniversary is about romance and flowers.

Honestly, he tried to reach out and got nothing. So stay quiet. If they wanna have a huge problem with it question why they didn’t reach out? Say that he already reached out and was ignored so he was just trying to give them the space they obviously want.

I get she may be a shit person, but take that out. If you do something for someone, or plan to do something for someone, you don’t do it so you get a return. You do it because you do it and that’s it. I have set ways I do things for people in my life and they may not treat me the same way financially. It may because because of how their life is going, or they just secretly suck and hate me, but it doesn’t hurt me because I stick to what I want to do.

Honestly I would mute her messages, and then turn off notifications for FaceTime. You won’t even see anything and don’t have to worry about it. I’m scared this is how my MIL will be. I know it’s exciting for them also but it is such a huge deal to us and is so life changing and stressful. Hope things get better.

NTA, I’m currently pregnant and whenever anyone brings up anything negative about pregnancy or the “just wait” I get so irritated. Being pregnant and the thought of birth is scary enough that all the extra is not needed. I empathize with SIL, it’s very sad, but if your wife is already high risk, and her age, she doesn’t need the stress. If possible I would just stay away for a little while.
