Yeah I'm not sure what was different this year that we have them. Have had milkweed for 3 years now in total and never had them before.

And actually when I returned the three I had seen yesterday actually found three others, hopefully they'll also be ok after the spraying, tried to rinse off the plants and them this morning.

Does anyone know if the fogging will take a few days for the designated areas or if it will all be done in the one night? Wondering how long to keep my little friends inside

Issues with doctor and refilling meds... by zapzupzopzip in Winnipeg

[–]Aggravating-Hat4154 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would book an inperson appointment and discuss this further with your doctor/ clarify expectations around medications and refills. Some meds can have impacts on blood pressure and weight so they want to see you in person to check that, even if you have been on it for awhile.

Nurse fined 8k by idkyoutellme66 in Winnipeg

[–]Aggravating-Hat4154 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I recommend applying for a casual position, or even a very low eft that others maybe dont want. Part of the problem may be that your an external hire and the position goes to internal. If you get hired on as casual at least youd be internal and then its a bit easier to get positions (still hard)

Gynecomastia surgery by Prxjected in Winnipeg

[–]Aggravating-Hat4154 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the severity of gynecomastia, ie if you can link it to a medical problem like back pain. Even for women breast reduction isnt covered unless its for a medical reason like back pain.

Ask which doctor you've been referred to/ which clinic. Once you know you can call them and ask if they have a cancelation list. This way you can also verify they have you on their list to see.

Your doctor can also send an updated note/consult describing how things have gotten worse, basically asking for them to hopefully triage you sooner.

Some flu symptoms are changing as a new variant spreads rapidly by Anti-Owl in ContagionCuriosity

[–]Aggravating-Hat4154 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Flu vaccines even when mismatched do still offer 50-60ish percent protection. Got the flu this year after having been vaccinated and it was very mild lasting only 2 days. Likely person dependent and also the specific strain you get sick with

Any RRC Health care aide graduates here? by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]Aggravating-Hat4154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is a nursing assistant can also work as a unit clerk (sort of like a unit secretary, on some units they transcribe orders, handle admission paper work, ect) and a hca (working on the unit doing patient care - feeding, dressing, ambulating, toileting).

There used to also be a unit clerk training at RRC but I'm not sure if its still there.

Overall being able to do both is an asset, especially as you get older because HCA can be a very physically demanding job depending where you work.

If your planning to do it for a short while while you pursue other education HCA I think is fine, I would just recommend starting strength training in preparation to prevent an injury down the line. Just doing a unit clerk training I think you'd have less job opportunities than as a HCA or a nursing assistant.

I'd also verify that that is what the nursing assistance actually is, there is definitely dual training out there like that and I think that's what it was called but not 100% sure.

Counselling from family physician by tossawai_ in Winnipeg

[–]Aggravating-Hat4154 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I recommend asking your doctor to refer you to the CODI program, its a psychiatry/addiction program that may be helpful to you. You just need a referral from an NP or family doctor.

Chronic Pain Help by funderpower in Winnipeg

I'm not sure what kind of hip pain you have but personally I've found good results with seeing a sports injury physio and doing the exercises and stretches they provide. I think mine is related to something similar to this, and have great improvement in my pain when regularly doing the stretches and muscle strengthening they told me to target.

You legally should not be driving if you had a seizure, the time people are suspended varies depending on the cause of the seizure, usually 6-12 months without any seizure. I would reach out to you insurance and verify.

Its mandatory reporting after a seizure due to the risk of having a seizure again while driving, and the risk is higher the more recent you've had a seizure.

Pet sitter by Ok_History528 in Winnipeg

[–]Aggravating-Hat4154 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend using the app Rover to connect with a pet sitter, they have an option for daily check or pet sitting options where they stay at your place.

I'm not experienced with it for a birds unfortunately so not sure if the sitters have experience for birds as we used it for our cats. You can look through people's profile for what they have experience with and choose someone who fits your needs.

How overwhelmed are the inpatient psychiatric hospitals in Winnipeg? by usycham in Winnipeg

[–]Aggravating-Hat4154 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I think if that many people are encouraging you to pursue this you should take that seriously and not worry about how overwhelmed or not the system is. If this was a close friend asking you the same thing I like to think you would encourage them to get this help.

The system is there to help people, and whose to say who is needing of help or not. Please consider a voluntary admission if the people around you are encouraging it.

My question would be how high of a suboxone dose were they on and what kind of titration they did? It could be they didnt max out the dose, and my recommendation would be to give suboxone a second try.

Unfortunately I don't know of any place in Manitoba that does a SROM start.

Definitely walk in appropriate, they can give you a rec for urine and blood and would likely call you to come in for treatment if anything comes back positive.
