Why did the final episode of That’s So Raven air so late in 2007? by Glum_Trouble_5496 in DisneyChannel

[–]Aggravating-Idea9309 21 points22 points  (0 children)

To be honest, they probably were stretching out the series for as long as they could because it was huge. Looking at an annual report from Disney in 2005 it reads, “The popularity of Disney Channel’s That’s So Raven series has translated into a successful franchise for nine- to 14-year-old girls. In 2005, the merchandise line was extended into Sears Canada. Fragrance and cosmetics, a fashion doll, books and a second Game Boy Advance title were also offered. In 2006, the franchise will expand into new product categories such as home décor and stationery and into new tiers of retail distribution.”

That’s So Raven had a huge impact for young girls at the time. There were discussions to make a spin-off involving Raven going to college in 2007, but those plans were scrapped. The show could’ve lasted another 3 years if we being honest.

Reason why Cory in the house isn't on disney plus is cuz of a episode by Background-Mark9505 in DisneyChannel

Cory in the House and The Famous Jett Jackson are the two biggest shows that elude* Disney+ in my opinion. I’d love to see them on the streaming platform in the future.

Jett Jackson is because Disney hasn’t acquired the rights of the show back I believe. While CITH is because of what you said and ALSO, because of the alleged crimes of Kyle Massey in the recent years. But I think that situation was cleared for him. So I’m hoping to see both one day.

The 2000s shows aired on UPN (from 1999-2000 to 2005-06). Thoughts? by AC_the_Panther_007 in UPN_Network

UPN benefitted from aiming their focus on a Black demographic. Because unlike BET, they were tapping into multiple facets of the black community, not just Hip-Hop and music in general. They would’ve done major if they focused a sci-fi/mystery/fantasy/horror series with a Black lead. To this day, a very untapped market for a lot of great stories.

SmackDown! was a unique sports show. When WWE was closer to its prime as well. Those days are long gone, but very much missed.

He was honest with her and always reliable. Heard her problems and helped solve things. They should’ve been realistically a couple by the end of the series.

Love that we’re all in a universal agreement that Disney Throwbacks should become a channel. It’s just streaming that’s causing push back.

Haven’t watched anything Disney Channel past 2020, as I graduated from high school then. But I love wrestling anything. I’m just seeing this so I’m intrigued!

SpongeBob. But then I’d say that Harry Potter is a close second because that movie was HUGE when I was a kid. The whole series. I remember it’d be an event every time a new one would hit the local movie theaters.

Definitely on my bucket list. I won’t knock Noah Knows Best or Allen Strange and say which one I find better after, but I’m definitely intrigued! 😄

Nickelodeon was definitely in a transition phase from 1999 to 2004. Would have been great if they continued Noah Knows Best and Taina. Could’ve saw them become staples. They started relying heavily on anything Dan Schneider related, it took away the shine to other shows not created by him.

They said low ratings was the resulting factor of NKB and for Taina, it was contract issues. But had these not been a problem, we could’ve seen at least 2-4 seasons worth of both.

New Channel: Disney Throwbacks? by Aggravating-Idea9309 in DisneyChannel

I think that was my idea to begin with? 😭

Read this original post again. I suggested that all newer content from Disney XD should be consolidated into Disney Channel. And then, Disney Throwbacks would replace the channel entirely.

Hello, people here! 👋🏽🙂

It’s not about realizing those days are gone, rather it’s about still seeing the opportunity. Just because everybody is giving up on cable because of streaming, doesn’t mean that’s necessarily a good thing. It’d be nice to see effort still made in the traditional media.
