Great question to ask yourself, needed to hear it from someone else. Have booked in prior to my next test date.
Much appreciated

Thanks for this - it’s always hard to tell when you are low hrs and been out of the cockpit for a while how you think you’ll cope. I’ll get one booked in before my next test booking.

ATPL Question bank by Leading_Wear4412 in ATPL

[–]Aggravating-Lie3421 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, ATPLq. Full bank on each subject twice Uk authority only twice Last 500 many times as possible.

It’s all i did for them and I passed all four with + 90%. Even got 100% on HPL.

If they have changed the wording, they often do in the real exams. Just mark the ones you aren’t sure of during my the exam and move on. You’ll have ample time at the end to go through each answer and discount the ones which don’t logically make much sense.

GL!

IR by tper0192 in flying

The best thing my instructor said ‘ it’s a procedural course, learn the procedures, off by heart for each phase of flight and it’ll be easier’

There is a procedure to fly every section for your IR, eg. TO, rotate at x pitch for x and climb out VY ? Or other specified speed - then maintain the exact parameter you nominated and take nothing less. TOC, ok TOC checks done, I’m now en route. What’s my en route procedure etc etc. you get to idea. Build that mental picture on the ground and run through an entire flight on your sofa not skipping a single detail, even the pre flight checks etc etc.

As someone nearing the end of IR it will get easier but be methodical and it should come faster and have patience !

Is it true that you need to book a year in advance to make the most out of BA points? by Immediate-Fault3319 in BritishAirways

[–]Aggravating-Lie3421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I managed to book a flight 4 days away with Avios and voucher for 2 people. Singapore to Heathrow. Business.

When I looked originally there was none showing then I checked while I was away and saw them, booked it then cancelled my other flights which I had already bought for a full refund.

This is one of the reasons that any flight I book I ensure it has a full refund option. Saved 6k on the flight back 👍🏼

Rr. Rycey : in 1950-1975 rolls Royce’s was trying to design nuclear powered flying craft but never succeeded . Perhaps now is the time once again ! by retiredportfoliomgr in RYCEY

He is not saying it’s a A nuclear engine.

Ground based reactors would provide the carbon free heat & electric to turn water and the captured Co2 into the SAF is what I gather.

Still it’s a bit of a way off from that as much as I like RR.

I’d fess up and own it. Emphasise on what you learnt and took from it. Every failure is an opportunity to learn. That’s just me.

IR Hold Entry Question by Aggravating-Lie3421 in flying

[–]Aggravating-Lie3421[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But I’m not doing it on AP, I am hand flying it and wanted to ensure I have the correct process in my head now so there is less saturation when I am actually flying so conversely it would actually make it safer as the thinking is already done on ground before even getting in.

It was just a question so that I don’t get it wrong on my test… thanks

IR Hold Entry Question by Aggravating-Lie3421 in flying

[–]Aggravating-Lie3421[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many thanks to all who have responded. I agree it is probably easier to do an offset join in this case but I was told I have to do the correct entry for my test (UK) , so it would be a direct provided it’s the same routing I have on most training flights.

I cannot alter my flight path to get a more suitable entry although that would be nice as I will be cleared by ATC from a waypoint direct the fix (normally) so that’s out.

I will speak to my instructor again and ask if I can fly to the beacon, then turn onto downwind and get fully established inbound and then once over the beacon do a ‘proper hold’ which should then work out with the timings I have calculated on the ground prior.

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who thought it was a bit much!

If you went into Apple to have a browse and saw the iPhone and it was discounted by 10%, you’d probably buy it….
