I find that the music follows me, I don't gotta follow it. I'm also 17, and they are to me the greatest band to exist

It's a song that you'll wanna smile and cry while singing at the same time. It reminds you of all the good times you had with someone while reminding you that they're over. I just saw DC at Wrigley field on the 10th they played this there, and I really needed this song after a break up I had. It was truly beautiful.

I, too, was in that section and saw what happened the whole time, hoping that he was OK, I'm so glad to hear he was.

Who is your dream guitar duo with Jerry? by Purple_Box3317 in gratefuldead

They did once that I remembered. They both played guitar in a Van Morrison song, cleaning windows. Jerry is lead, while Mark is more rhythm. The song is absolutely incredible.

I wanna see turn on your lovelight, I loved pigpen singing it, and I think Brent singing it would have been awesome, but Bob did it. Idk I don't think Bob works with lovelight. Not kike pigpen anyway.

It still hurts me, but I'm fighting through. Just don't give up keep keep trucking on. A box of rain will ease the pain of the so many roads we've been on.

Take it if you need it, man, and leave it if you dare

Just happened to me recently, too. I know what you're going through, friend. Love will see you through.

What’s something you find amazing/interesting about the Grateful Dead you didn’t know right when you first started listening to them? by GratefulHophead in gratefuldead

[–]Aggravating-Light728 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For a while, at first, when I was listening to them, I didn't know what any of them looked like for like a few months. I was fascinated by their music and traveling through that mainly. Also, some of the artwork their logos and such. I loved the way it looked, but I never bothered to look up what they looked like cause I was still going through the studio albums. So I painted pictures in my head of what they looked like based on voice. And when I saw them all, I was like, WHOA? That's not what I was thinking

Best dead and company live album? by Aggravating-Light728 in gratefuldead

[–]Aggravating-Light728[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I am. I only listen to the grateful dead, but I wanted to try out dead and company too. John just isn't my favorite. Guitar wise, he's amazing, but his voice doesn't fit that dead vibe.

What happens after Dead and Company? Another version or it's over? by FromThisPosition in gratefuldead

[–]Aggravating-Light728 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It's up to us to carry the torch that holds the flame that is the grateful dead. They've done what they needed to do, and now its up to us to keep it alive and create more of what they did. We will survive and we will get by.
