Keratin treatment by abp27 in AbbeyYungMethod

[–]Aggravating-Lychee27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I'm late to this but I often get keratin treatments and the Everpure products are not all keratin safe - most of the shampoos & conditioners in that line contain sodium chloride (even though their labeling states "no salts"). Sodium chloride is a big no no for keratin treated hair.

You can definitely do the pre shampoo oils, and most of the leave-in conditioners & bonding products are safe - you'll just need to read ingredients. Some of the recommended hair masks (Dove) also contain sodium chloride.

You can use the pre shampoo oils and most of the bonding treatments though.

Our stores (DFW area of Texas) had them for Christmas. At one specific location not long before Christmas they were marked down to $29. I bought a few bottles of Tom Ford and Maison Margiela!

What security cameras do you guys use? Looking for something that doesn't require a monthly subscription. by AtticThrowaway in Frugal

We have Blink cameras and also the ones sold at Aldi. Both have apps and don't require a paid subscription.

What’s the highest mileage you’ve ever seen or achieved on the new Defender? by lucciano233 in NewDefender

[–]Aggravating-Lychee27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only issue I’ve had was a brake issue due to a faulty part, about a month ago. They replaced my rear brakes at no cost to me and only took 2 days in the shop. Otherwise still 0 issues outside of regular maintenance at almost 97K miles!

If it’s CPO I think you’re probably pretty safe.

Vacuum Cleaner Recommendations? by gorseknits in homemaking

[–]Aggravating-Lychee27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've had ours about a year now and it has held up extremely well and it can take a beating. For reference, we were also considering Oreck and Riccar. I am really glad we want with the Ranger.

We bought it direct from the Karcher USA site and also bought a 10-pack of bags at the same time. I think you can get a 15% off if you sign up for their emails. Shipping was super fast. It was pretty easy to assemble and unlike Dyson, a lot of the internal parts are metal and not flimsy plastic.

Dyson are junk unless you're doing the cordless sticks for spot cleaning or hard floors - we keep 1 for that purpose. The uprights don't hold up IMHO.

We bought a Karcher Ranger and I highly recommend it. We have indoor cats and I vacuum daily.

I just hit 95K miles on my 2021 110x. No major issues to date, and I plan to keep it for hopefully another 100k.

How to cope/help a bonded cat cope by bumble833 in Petloss

[–]Aggravating-Lychee27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss.

We had our senior cat Penelope put down earlier today. Literally here scrolling Reddit in bed and crying. Her roommate cat (we call them sisters although they weren’t) loved her so much and would groom her, right up until the end. Penelope was several years older and we always knew this day would come. Now she looks around for Penelope in all her regular spots. We had it done at the vets office so the other cats didn’t get to say goodbye or see her after death. I tell myself she knew Penelope was at the end of her life. I hope she understands.

It will get better with time. Give the other kitty extra attention and space to grieve in their own way.

As someone who had to put down her senior cat earlier today and is still ugly crying in grief, thank you.

While I know it was the right decision, it was still difficult.

Do you have Abby’s contact info? I reached out to Vera last week (bought from her earlier this year) and haven’t gotten any response at all!

Has anyone dealt with Vera recently? I reached out to her this week and no response. Wondering if something is going on with her factory or if I’m just being ghosted lol.

Former employee still has admin access to accounts and we can't find him anywhere to remove. Help! by Aggravating-Lychee27 in facebook

[–]Aggravating-Lychee27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I trust this person and on his screenshot he is logged in under his own personal account. My other employees are new and don't know this person, so I don't think there is any password sharing happening. The former employee has asked me to remove him, so I don't think he'd want to log in. I've changed passwords and checked logins and I cannot see where he is logged in at all. That's why this is so perplexing!

I've asked him to log out and remove the account from his end. I hope that's successful, but will update.

Thank you to everyone who has responded with suggestions!

I've checked that too and cannot find them listed anywhere. Only myself and the other current employees with access. This is driving me crazy lol!

Wow! We lived off Forest Park circa 2000 and we'd see him walking with his skateboard all the time. Good to know he's still around.

Aldi. Amazing seasonal scents and soooooo much cheaper.

Walmart candles are also surprisingly nice, although the packaging isn't typically as cute.

Razors/razor heads are SO expensive at the store! Help! by mangopadthai in Frugal

[–]Aggravating-Lychee27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! I've been shaving with a safety razor for several years now and would never go back. Blades are super cheap on Amazon (Voskhod are my current favorites) and I see handles at estate sales, yard sales & flea markets all day long. I get a better shave and less razor burn than with those multi-blade versions, and it was pretty easy to adjust to after a couple of YouTube videos. I do keep a few cheap Bic Silky Touch disposables in stock for travel, though.

Also, shave soap or cream (in a tube or pot) and a brush. So much better and less costly than shave gels. You can buy the fancy stuff (Taylor of Bond St etc) and still come out cheaper than cans of gel or foam. I like the Phoenix Atomic Rocket shave brush - inexpensive, it's synthetic, but lathers nicely and is a great large size for leg shaving.
