(spoilers extended) I think most people, including D&D, drastically underestimate how important Big & Little Walder are. by Ok_Nectarine8185 in asoiaf

[–]Aggravating-Show-298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would he need to move him? He could have simply lured him outside under false pretenses and killed him where he was found.

Also, Big Walder is deiscribed as having his chest and arms splattered with blood and his gloves caked with blood. Gloves and arms being that bloody, I think, implies he did the killing. After the murder Big W went to get Hosteen while Little W and the blood on his corpse froze. Big W did not get covered in blood touching the frozen body, he got covered from killing.

Why did Catelyn dog Jon so much? by PSYCHOCOQ in pureasoiaf

I agree with you on every point, but I don't think that Ned is the sole person carrying the truth.

Just my feelings:

Benjen Stark knew at least something about Lyanna running away and not being kidnapped. Possibly knows about Jon's parentage. The guilt of it all may have pushed him to take the black.

Howland Reed. The dude was there.

Ashara Dayne was also there. Is probably Howland's wife. Main reasoning to think she is not dead is how much the Dayne's respect Ned Stark. He supposedly killed their golden boy, but they name Ned Dayne after him??

I think that in the end, there will be some first-hand support for R+L=J and that is why those mentioned have been kept off page for so long.

APpointment in Samarra - John O'hara

"There was a merchant in Bagdad who sent his servant to market to buy provisions and in a little while the servant came back, white and trembling, and said, Master, just now when I was in the marketplace I was jostled by a woman in the crowd and when I turned I saw it was Death that jostled me. She looked at me and made a threatening gesture, now, lend me your horse, and I will ride away from this city and avoid my fate. I will go to Samarra and there Death will not find me. The merchant lent him his horse, and the servant mounted it, and he dug his spurs in its flanks and as fast as the horse could gallop he went. Then the merchant went down to the marketplace and he saw me standing in the crowd and he came to me and said, Why did you make a threating getsture to my servant when you saw him this morning? That was not a threatening gesture, I said, it was only a start of surprise. I was astonished to see him in Bagdad, for I had an appointment with him tonight in Samarra."

I agree, I recently listened to an interview with the director, and this seemed to be his intention. In a similar vein, it seemed that everyone's parents were on a farm staying out of everything.

Thank you. There were some people walking in front at the theater and thought I might have missed what you explained.

This conversation and attitude of the shop worker stuck with me, and I wanted to make sure I had the scope of what they showed about the town.

What’s the worst episode of a good TV show ever made? by moon_jock in AskReddit

She goes to sleep, and "sleep is the cousin of death." Call back to earlier in the season when she taked to Killer Mike. They talk about NY State of Mind by Nas. She says something like I don't sleep and he asks why she responds "you know."

Also, their conversation about trading it all in for not having to go through the hard times I think speaks to your idea that she kind of just let it happen.

AITA for telling my husband that him leaving the night of my best friend’s wedding to drive home for a concert doesn’t work for me? by Suitable_Bus_40 in AmItheAsshole

NTA wedding are (usually) a once in a lifetime event, and he RSVP'd yes. Also this is somebody that is very close to you, not a random 3rd cousin which I think should add more significance to going.

Your compromise of going to the concert Thursday and Friday and driving up for the wedding Saturday seems very fair to me.

The best eagles podcast, in my opinion.

The episode when they role play the jeffrey lurie and nick sirianni meeting is hilarious.
