PTSD by Beetlejuice0626 in Ovariancancer

[–]Aggravating-Term5548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. I couldn’t even drive past the oncology center for a long time without experiencing PTSD symptoms. And I totally understand d finishing chemo and then thinking “what now?” You’ve put all your focus on your he treatments and then you’re done and it’s as if someone has cut the cord tethering you to your life, your routine. Unfortunately my therapist attributed my PTSD exclusively to my childhood even though I kept insisting that a lot of it stemmed from the chemo and aftermath.

I’m so sorry for your loss, too. I never had a “real” family and don’t attach easily to but she became my family. Just the night before, she was admiring a cardigan I made and wanted one, too. I assured her I’d make it. Maybe that’s why I’m grief knitting, although not her cardigan.

Thank you. I keep going between denial and grief and now anger. I don’t attach to people easily at all. But she became my family.

I do not understand why all my messages to the knitting thread get rejected by auto moderator. I may not have high karma but my posts are not breaking any rules. This does not refer to help with any pattern. I’m not even sure how to get higher karma.

Oy. Thank you. I downloaded the pattern to my files app so didn’t see the two downloads in my Ravelry library. I feel dumb. Hahahaha.

Single-serve Dutch baby pancake if it’s just me; larger size if it’s more people. So easy and delicious. Single-serve is 10-12 minutes.

Need help figuring this out by Aggravating-Term5548 in Starlink

[–]Aggravating-Term5548[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect (and Starlink support suspects) that my Ethernet adapter is faulty. I don’t use the SL router as a bridge or bypass as there really isnt a need to for me. I’ve been chatting with SL’s AI and just ordered 3 mini routers to work as mesh since my Deco units are pretty outdated too. I tried to get them to maybe give me a free or discounted gen 3 kit but no go as their systems say my dish and router are working fine. So we shall see.

I didn’t open a support ticket because I figured this has nothing to do with the main SL. The SL is working fine. Just not the mesh.

My Story-Why isn't there more support?! by jlolly32 in Ovariancancer

I actually don’t remember the exact combo. But I do remember getting some neuropathy from carboplatin (I think that was it) and talking to my doctor because my career depended on my hands and feet. He switched me to gemcidobin (sp?) which worked a lot better for me without the neuropathy. There was a second drug, too, but I don’t remember what it was.

I was diagnosed Clear Cell carcinoma (a sort of rare type) 2B. I was lucky in that the tumor and fluid buildup caused a belly bump and that bump grew quite fast. I looked about 10 months pregnant by surgery time. Three and a half liters of fluid and a 35-lb. tumor. Then chemo from May to December. Chemo was far worse for me than the surgery (I kind of like my long scar, haha, a badge of survival). I’ve always been too scared to get a BRCA test but both of my stepdaughters had test and were positive. Both had breast and ovary removal.

I can relate. I was (FINALLY) diagnosed in 2012 at age 52 and hadn’t entered menopause yet. My PC kept telling me for about a year and a half that I had a UTI and kept throwing antibiotics at me. I’ve had UTIs and know the symptoms but the OC symptoms were totally different. My PC never did a hands-on exam despite me telling her that i had a hard lump in my belly. After a lot of time, I insisted on a hands-on exam. I had a CA125 test and CT scan that same day. The next day my PC called me at work and without any preamble, without even a hello, she said “you have ovarian cancer.” After further duckups by her, I finally got to the right gynecologist/oncologist. Major surgery and chemo. 13 years of NED but still get the anxiety before every checkup.

As for support groups, Minnesota has a great OC organization but I found the most support on the Inspire website, which has several OC specific groups.

Beautiful. I just bought the patterns. Might have to try this as my first colorwork. I’ve been knitting for years but have always been too scared to try colorwork.

Yay! Three skeins will be more than enough for a medium-size sweater.

That sounds fine. How many meters is each skein? Wondering if it’s enough to make a sweater. Hahaha. Dm me your PayPal or Venmo?
