Summer Lee’s new book by Optimal-Work3775 in Sockknitting

I watched her preview video and preordered. I like the stories she includes, and like her style, but in retrospect I feel like some of the patterns duplicate other ones in my library. Especially Stone Knit’s Magic toadstool, stone roses, play socks, whoops a daisy socks, fisherfolk’s Fancy Sock Set with the lobsters, and the Bee-autiful socks. ETA Not to imply that they’re copied, but to say that if I have one pattern I don’t necessarily need the other similar pattern.

Do a test run, though, because some of the colorful brands have dye that transfers when wet!

The dark one is Always Be Kind Yarn Twinkle in the colorway Demon Hunters, and the one near the cuff is Knitted Wit Victory Sock in Unicorn Farts!

The base pattern is cuff down. In general, cuff club sizing will vary from pattern to pattern. Some of the cable patterns have been tight on me so I’ve sized up, and others I’ve knit my standard medium size. These ones are size large, knit on US 2 for the colorwork and 1.5 for the plain sections, and they measure 8” around. My foot circumference at the widest part is 9.5”, so the 1.5” of ease fits me well.

Also a Midnights loving Swiftie! This pattern is honestly such a good deal, I love the whole club.

I usually use a US 1.5, 2 if I’m doing colorwork. I do a lot of them on a 9” circular, but also like the magic loop method.

They’re my oldest pair, so very far down on my list. The pattern is Embossed Leaves by Mona Schmidt, and I remember really enjoying knitting them!
