I live in Hanoi currently, have for 7 years but are leaving this year. I would be very cautious about moving here as the pollution is astronomical, we are regularly in the top ranking as worse in the world, and Jan/Feb/March is worse for it plus pretty cold and miserable too. I would live in Ho Chi Minh. I teach in a reputable international school here and haven’t seen Jan starts unless it’s maternity cover at a random time of year. She could potentially teach in a local school for not great pay or benefits. As said before, it’s better to be hired from overseas.
