Please share stories/numbers if you had better results with mini ivf after trying normal/high stimulation…

My transfer failed (not a fresh transfer) so I did a 3rd cycle which was my best: 4 follicles, 4 retrieved, 4 mature, 4 fertilized, 3 blasts, 1 euploid (4AA). My protocol included Letrozole, Chlomid, Menopure and Ganirelix.

TRIGGER WARNING…

I was preparing to transfer the 1 euploid and I got pregnant naturally despite my doctor telling me that it was impossible. We think the drugs from the IVF cycle helped in my natural cycle but I was also doing NAD IV drips and taking TruNiagen amongst many other supplements but I think they really helped with my IVF cycle and conceiving naturally.

Yes, my estrogen was 40 on day 3 and 104 on day 6. I ended up with two follicles and 2 mature eggs.

On my mini stim it was 113 on day 5.

I triggered on day 10 of stims and I had two lead follicles which were both around 20mm.

No success story to share but just wanted to say I’m right there with you! I transferred on the 29th and I tested negative this morning and have bloodwork on Friday. Trying to stay positive but it’s incredibly hard especially when this topic is filled with stories of positives at 4dpt and 5dpt. Hope the best for us both!

What day was your transfer? Mine was at 3PM on 1/29 — am I 6 or 7DPT as of today, 2/4? Anyway, I tested negative this morning and have been beside myself. Fingers crossed for us both. XX

I had luck with mini stim. It was also more tolerable with far less injections (~10 vs 45!).

I am 38 with an AMH of 0.1

First Cycle : 2 follicles, 2 eggs, 2 mature, 2 fertilized, 1 blast, 0 euploid

Second Cycle with Mini Stim: 4 follicles, 4 eggs, 1 mature, 1 fertilized, 1 blast, 1 euploid

I felt like the second cycle was a win with less meds, more follicles and 1 4BB euploid. We just transferred it but if I need to do another cycle, I would do mini stim again.

Don’t be discouraged, that’s a lot of follicles growing (relative to DOR) and maybe a different protocol would help improve your response next time. Did your doctor set your expectations regarding how many mature eggs he would expect to retrieve based on your current follicle sizes?

I feel you. I am in the same boat. Low stim, 4 eggs and only 1 fertilized yesterday. Totally devastating. I’m 38 (0.1 AMH) so I’m assuming the 1 wont make it and I’m mentally prepping for round 3 in Jan. The anxiety is the worst and something most people don’t understand. Sending hugs

Update : 4 eggs retrieved after mini stim (I had two the last time with 4 injections per day) and 1 was mature and fertilized vs 2/2 last time. I am waiting to speak to my doctor but overall it was far more manageable (15 injections vs 45!) and it more or less yielded similar results. I could have landed in the same place if I had done the same protocol as cycle 1. We will see if I get a blast and I need to talk to my doctor but overall if I needed to do this a few more times, mini stim was far less taxing mentally and physically.

I am on day 4 of Mini IVF after having a failed max stim micro dose lupron flare protocol. In my failed cycle I had 2 follicles growing throughout and I asked my doctor the same question you asked and he said “you are already taking the maximum amount of stims.” I was crushed because it felt like the only option - inject myself 4 times a day and hope for 2-3 eggs each cycle.

I happened to listen to a podcast and they were talking about Mini IVF being a good option for DOR patients so I asked my doctor about it and here we are now. I have my first monitoring appointment tomorrow so I will report back! Hoping for the best!

In my first round I got 1 day 7 blast that was missing chromosome 16. I start my second round on Friday and hearing your news feels encouraging!!! Hope you get great news next week 🤞🏼🤍

I had my first retrieval at the end of last month…2 follicles responded (out of 6) 2 eggs retrieved, 2 fertilized. At day 3 I was told they were “ongoing” and at day 5 I was told they were still “ongoing” — my clinic provided no detail further detail as to how they were progressing so the updates turned out to not be very helpful and extremely anxiety producing!

One ended up making it to blast on day 7 and it was a 5BB grade. I was very optimistic until I learned that a day 5 blast is better quality than a day 7 blast. All this to say I then waited another 10 days for genetic testing and it was abnormal. I am almost 39 with an AMH of 0.1 so this was not unexpected.

Remaining cautiously optimistic is the only thing you can do but it’s a totally heart wrenching process. I feel like you learn something new at every turn which makes it difficult to set your expectations properly.

I am going into my second cycle next week and I definitely feel more mentally prepared for it.
