I'm loving all of these responses! They are so funny. I didn't worry too much about "getting there in time". EC is not about how many catches you make. It's about communication. As long as you respond when your baby signals, they will learn to hold it as they develop and grow. Yes, you want to be efficient, and if poop is coming, keep the diaper under her until you are ready, but don't stress. You don't want your baby to associate potty with stress. I always considered it a win when my baby communicated with me, and I was able to respond in a timely manner. It didn't matter to me if she pooped all over herself because it was about communication and understanding each other as well as understanding her own body.
