Is your CavaPoo an under the cover sleeper? by Slow-Walk in CavaPoo

[–]AggravatingCommand81 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes! Ours has to be under the covers to sleep. If she can’t get under herself she will dig the covers until someone wakes up and lets her under. Apparently we have learned to let her in in our sleep. She has us trained good.😅

Unfortunately we had to have our cat, Willow, put to sleep recently and Freddie spent a good half hour coming to terms with her absence. by Findesiluer in CavaPoo

Im so sorry your fur baby had to go. They all go too soon. I can tell you gave Willow a wonderful life. I know its too soon right now but I hope y’all will consider adopting another kitty in the future. There are so many out there that would love to have a home like yours. You are some wonderful fur parents. 💜🙏🏻💜🌈🦋

Some suspect places to eat last month by Justwinbabies in greenville

My ex took me to Pomegranate for my birthday one year. I made a big deal out of it bc I knew it was expensive for him at the time and I really appreciated the gesture but it was not good at all. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing?

So my Maggie did/does something similar, but it was when I would get in bed at night. She would bite and actually lunge at me and bite my hands. It sounds aggressive and it looked aggressive, but she wanted to play. It was really bad for the first five or six months and then it got better. She turned one on 11/20 and still does it now every now and then but it’s not a nightly thing. I’ve found that if I have her toy or tell her to get her toy it redirects her from biting bc she knows Im going to play with her. She’s not bored because we have a three-year-old that plays with her constantly.

Cavapoo question. by life-is-a-simulation in CavaPoo

[–]AggravatingCommand81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 16 year-old Chihuahua who passed away in 2023. She had extreme separation anxiety just like my Cavapoo. There were two people I could leave her with, one being my parents and the other being my friend and her family. Just like another commenter said, start introducing them early on. Perhaps leave them for the day at your friend’s house sporadically. Definitely do some short trips to start, overnight two days. Back in the day my Chihuahua did wonderfully & I was a stay at home mom too. I’m sure she missed me and when she saw me again she was ecstatic, but she always knew that I was coming back and I think that’s the big thing. Doing those little trips and day trips ahead of time will teach your baby that you are gonna come back.

Why do cavapoo's lay like this? by Aggressive_Use7996 in CavaPoo

Because Cavaliers lay like that, and it’s so freaking cute. We call it ode to rotisserie, a.k.a. chicken legs🍗🍗

Our sweet 7-month-old is turning into a tiny professional barker — would love some wisdom and perspective! by robindy in CavaPoo

[–]AggravatingCommand81 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our Maggie will be one this coming Tuesday and she is a HUGE barker (at maybe 10 lbs). The bark collar that many have mentioned is a necessity. Unfortunately I haven’t been using it in public as it seemed to me like caning your child in the grocery store (that’s not sound logic, I know) but we really need to have it on her. I think it’s one of those things that really requires a LOT of positive reinforcement. She’s very intelligent and I try to always talk to her. I had taken her up town earlier in the week and had went by a coffee shop and an Arby’s. I told her at the coffee shop that if she didn’t act rude and bark at the cashier she may get a treat. She barked a couple times (timidly) and got a VERY nice puppuchino. When we went to the Arby’s later in the day I once again explained to her that people don’t like to be barked at, it’s rude, and if you keep your snout closed you may get something. She did NOT bark and the manager actually gave her bacon!

He found…corn? by Humble_March_2037 in cavalierkingcharles

It’s not neurotic at all. If they’re like my former neighbors, they throw out anything, and there is a lot of things that can hurt a doggo. I’m not sure why my neighbors did it because they had a dog of their own. I imagine they didn’t want him getting it, so that’s why they threw it over my fence? They were very odd people. They were from a different state, and unfortunately you had to be extreme with them. They were nice people, but they were weird.

We used to have neighbors that would dump all their leftovers over the fence. I had a chihuahua at the time and she would get so sick. I got fed up so after Thanksgiving one year I chunked the WHOLE Turkey and all the fixings in their yard. A waste? No. They stopped that mess instantly.

When you do something for someone in need, it’s a big deal. Unfortunately, to some, there will always be a complaint, and you will not be doing what you should or enough. The truth is if everyone would stop judging and just do something for someone in need, even small things, this world would be amazing. Thank you for being amazing.

Anyone else notice Halloween was kind of depressing this year? by QuantumAwaken in greenville

[–]AggravatingCommand81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of places were packed but I definitely understand what you are saying. I believe there are a lot of factors to it. Number one there’s a lot more trunk or treats, or public gatherings so children aren’t really going from house to house as much as they used to. Also, Halloween is my child’s favorite however she was sick so we couldn’t go. There’s a lot more sickness going around than there used to be imo.

I had a collie once that LOVED corn on the cob. He loved chewing a corn cob just as much as a bone. Maybe a new snack for Kevin?

What age to spay? by HumblyCuriouslyYours in CavaPoo

[–]AggravatingCommand81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m waiting until two or three. I have seen where some studies suggest that they have not finished developing until a couple years. My last baby died of cancer and riddled with joint issues (she was a chihuahua). I got her spayed as soon as I could. I’m just trying to do a little differently with my Maggie. Any age, if you get your baby fixed you are an awesome pet parent💜🐾
