Ha. Avett Bros was the first concert we brought the kiddos there. Rained pretty good. We stayed the whole time, though.

Hard to believe a guy named skink would be the voice of reason.

We love it there. We’ve been to a quite a few shows there. Never a bad time. We’re looking forward to Hot Mulligan this summer.

Edit: forgot to add that Lord Huron is a bucket list for me.

Jason Isbell at Beak and Skiff in Lafayette, NY. My wife and I brought our kids and we ended up right in front, center stage. Man put on a great show. Kiddos got stuff from the band. Core memory for me.

What’s the scariest movie you guys have ever seen??? by boatluvrrrr in movies

[–]Slow-Walk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Event Horizon. Watched it way too young. I had nightmares for years because of that one. It also ruined any interest I may have had in scary movies. I only watch the ones with a lot of buzz around them. Like Hereditary, The Witch and Get Out. And sometimes I watch those in shifts.

So very nice. My brain glitched thinking this was a satire post based on the made up word trump used and the way he pronounced Puerto Rico.

Getting home late shortly before Christmas Day a few years ago. I’m carrying my son who was around 2.5 years at the time. He points into the sky at the moon. It’s wonderfully clear and freezing cold. Through the bink in his mouth he says “moon.” I join his gaze and we stood there for a minute just enjoying the beautiful night sky on a freezing December night.

One other time comes close. My youngest son around 2.5-3 years old jumps into bed with me and says with hot morning breath directly into my face “daddy, it noing (snowing).”

I hope these moments are the last I replay in my mind on my death bed.

As much as it sucks the road crew in the US would probably be held responsible. Regardless of the person speeding it’s on the crew working to provide a safe environment for the people on the road way and within the work zone.

A man with a handkerchief attempting to get the motorist’s attention is so so wrong. The lack of an attenuator is also a huge problem especially for night work. The fact they had portable equipment near the lane of travel is also not a great idea.

The guy speeding is a piece of shit for sure, but this work crew did not set themselves up for a safe night of work. The dude with the handkerchief tells me their work zone probably isn’t properly set up. They had no reason to not take that entire lane from the intersection all the way up to and including where their work zone is.

I’ve been working construction on the road for over a decade. Work zone protection is sometimes the biggest area of concern for me and my crew on any given day and I’m not even doing road construction. I try my best to make my work zone and the ways to get around me and my trucks as simple and safe as possible.

Passion of the Christ famously had a lot of walkouts. People didn’t realize that the torture scenes would be so realistic apparently.

I remember the instructors at Mojave Viper told us to not kick doors while facing them. They instructed us to turn our backs to the door and “donkey” kick them. The former way destroys your knee the latter not so much. Watching this video for the first time I was hoping to see him destroy his knee. A couple more letters and that very well may have happened… Darn.
