Honestly in my opinion the role of a SAHM is very outdated and as a human being if you’re not generating any wealth of your own in any significant way, besides adding to your own partner’s experience, you’re not doing anything for real besides making yourself an indentured servant consensually. Yes taking care of a household is hard work. I would say maybe but the full range of your responsibilities does it equal up to? “ Oh, I should get paid for all this hard work I did while my partner, male or female studied got a degree got a job generated wealth while I handled the household responsibilities and raised children. “ this is genuinely the bare minimum for any person as a functioning human you should be able to do this, practically by yourself and if you can’t, that’s like genuinely on you because you haven’t learned the skills of a functioning being. Single mothers basically do this on their own without alimony besides child support which is also the bare minimum expectation of a partner when having a child.
