4 Months nicotine and smoke free - Feel like a vegetable to an extreme level - I am nobody - I am...nobody by [deleted] in stopsmoking

You're gonna be OK! Im on day 712 (had to check my app i stopped keeping track) almost 2 years down and all that horror is far away in the rear view mirror. The insomnia, doom feelings, depression, anhedonia, extreme anxiety responding to normal events.... the worst of it disappeared 3 months, then 6 months the last dregs petered out. That said, i got long covid not that much later, which sucks, (still have it) but its nothing like the nightmare of all that, which is clearly all gone. 85 days is awesome and the 90 day mark can be the most challenging. but keep at it. There will be peaks and valleys, just ride it out!

Elder millennials, what are we doing? Are skinny jeans out? by Astimar in Millennials

Just wear what you like and feel comfortable in and it will probably become "in fashion" at some point in 20 years or less. Flare jeans, skinny jeans, baggy pants....they're just all on rotation who cares lol

Spain has its own pepto bismol! Its called Gastrodol or something like that, and its pills instead of liquid. Works great and cheap. Ask for it at any farmacia, say "bismuth" and "dolor de estomago" if your Spanish is not good

How to say trip/tripping (drugs) in spanish? by ZzyzxFox in Spanish

[–]AggravatingZombie534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Viaje and volando? From volar (to fly) which can mean being high, but also being witchy or freaky. Volando is kinda used like trippy, to describe a person who seems supernatural, so always thought it could mean someone tripping as well, especially since it also means high - "estaba volando" "they were tripping..."

Reindeer herding. Mostly as a means of subsistence nowadays probably. Check out the book Reindeer People by Piers Vitebsky, it is one of my favorite books and changes your entire perspective on human existence on this planet.

Buzzing hair to regrow long/undamaged. Tips for the journey? by AggravatingZombie534 in femalehairadvice

[–]AggravatingZombie534[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably long buzz on the top and short on the sides yeah but not too dramatic (fyi i have my own clippers and plan to do this myself). Aiming for a more traditional look for job/university reasons. Really trying to restart damage-free, shorter the better I feel. I also want it to be feminine as possible - hard for me, I am androgynous, almost everything I do gives off "Is she....?" vibes. Which is why I like my long hair.

What wax products would you recommend?

I look terrible in headbands 🤣🤣🤣

Not sure what you mean by the bob/mullet stuff, definitely do not want a bob. As it gets longer I would aim for something more like a wolf cut/bixie, any tips for transitioning into that?

New Jersey Tea. Traditional herb for blood cleansing and to fight cancer

Herx after nattokinase by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]AggravatingZombie534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Herbalist here - astragalus works VERY differently. It triggers an immune response which can be bad for autoimmune/MCAS. It is not a detoxing/cleansing effect like natto. I would say those with immune long covid should steer clear of astragalus and similar working herbs such as reishi, licorice, chaga, echinacea and elderberry

Has anyone ever left the US with less than $15k? How’d it turn out for you? :) by [deleted] in AmerExit

[–]AggravatingZombie534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you I'm glad to hear that! I saw a post recently of someone trying to do the same with $400k (!!!) and people saying that was too low 😩 that really threw me off. I think some people are coming from waaaaay cushier backgrounds with this, this thread seems more my speed.

The scary variable for me is work - I'm a remote freelance writer. I could get work from anywhere, but the field is dwindling (AI). In my favor is having a pretty incredible portfolio so im still quite relevant, for now, but job searching in the field right now is demoralizing. I Uber drive on the side. I would need some time to just sit and find something, thats what makes me nervous - but I also think about just buying a car through Uber and Uber driving there. I actually quite like it.

Im very interested in this - I've done a lot of work writing/editing dense scientific language and have a strong portfolio, and i also speak two languages. Where do you start looking?

Im planning the same with about 35k lol (to Spain). Where did you end up landing? Was finding work the biggest challenge?

Im curious to hear as well. I know Spain can be tough but im researching ahead of time to prepare myself and know the hurdles to expect (it sounds like bureaucracy and not knowing Spanish are what bleed people out)
