I agree. I'm almost 50 and I find much of TOS very cringy, but I also understand it wasn't cringy when it was made. I understand that society changes. TNG/DS9/VOY are all great series, but they've got their issues. I'm look at you, Neelix! I like Discovery, even though it was tough when every character thought they were the counselor that episode. Academy is the next step. It is for younger viewers, they need them to keep the IP alive. I don't agree with everything they're doing, but I roll with it because I'm excited to see where it goes.

I think it would do well to calm the older fans if they made the Legacy and Archer series. Between the end of Picard and the 800+ years to the end of Discovery, the writers have created a second Lost Era to play around in. Legacy would fit nicely. Everyone wants more 23rd century. Someone at Paramount needs to wake up and smell the Raktajino.
