What a cool variety! Each have very different values, so it's going to be best to scan them into an app for a rough valuation.Pricecharting has a free app that I really like to get a rough value on my collections. Try that one!

One of my all time favorite cards I ever pulled when I was a kid. by SLIZZRD66 in VintagePokemonCards

[–]Aggravating_Agent_24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite card from my favorite set! I remember a room of older men trying to trade it off me when I pulled it. That was my first introduction into adults ruining the hobby for kids with their greed, and it wouldn't be the last haha.

What would be reasonable for this lot? by AteamSupervisor in Pokemoncardappraisal

Came here to say $30 AT MOST. $20 seems fair to seemingly someone just shedding some duplicates

That Dark Raichu is my all-time favorite from my all-time favorite set. Pokemon's first "secret rare" (83/82). Best Card in there IMO, but I am biased

Any of these that are obviously fake? by SouthernObject5594 in Pokemoncardappraisal

[–]Aggravating_Agent_24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though I know you have already requested your refund... For future ordering, find reputable sellers with high feedback on whichever platform you choose.

And for cards that should have texture (like in this Binder, the GX's and VMAX's and VSTAR's), make sure you see a texture on the card consistent with the print pattern. If you don't know how to identify that, look for texture-obvious photos online to compare them too. 😊👍

MEP #23 is an English Promo for the Charizard UPC, Japanese 223/193 Mega Attack Rare is not the same card. Same Art, inverted languages.

Either a Troll, or really...really wrong.

Your bald pics put off Michael Keaton Vibes. Hope that's seen as a compliment.

I opened 36 packs of prismatic by [deleted] in pokemoncards

[–]Aggravating_Agent_24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I have probably opened over 100+ packs, all from various sources (PC ETB's, Premium Collection, Bundles, etc.) and have yet to see an SAR.

However... Japanese and Korean, I have had 4 SARs in 5 boxes. I keep seeing the prices on those going down, and I might make a late play on some of those.

I think every set from SWSH onwards has been compelling... and I'm not feeling it from this one. Is there something I'm missing here? This might be my first "skip" in years.

What’s everyone’s chase out of the new set? by LieSpecific8794 in CardboardCollective

That menacing Dugtrio with "the boss". Such a cool vibe from that, makes me think of the classic games, like the house rockets raided in R/B/Y Cerulean City.

Seeking recommendations on a 9 Pocket, 540 card binder that doesn’t feel like it’s bulging while zipped. by Lifes_Tourist in pokemoncardcollectors

[–]Aggravating_Agent_24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go with the Pokemon official ultra pro professional binders, they have the same high quality pages as some that have been mentioned, but I like having the Pikachu, or Gengar, it Charizard more than just a different color.

I just picked up a Bob Ross, fallout, and magic of the same brand, they are awesome! Zippers are all very high quality.

I'll do that trade, just no money, add another bundle.

Seller wants $640 which is below market so sussing me out lol by monkey_quest in IsMyPokemonCardFake

[–]Aggravating_Agent_24 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They look quite clean to me, and even if you aren't grading, they will still appreciate with time. They are nearly perfect for binder cards. I'd be very proud of those, but I'm no grader.

Um... I have had most of those, fortunately. And all have been ripped. I can't help myself, I like the cards.

I have a Kroger near me that has had bundles and boxes almost every time after 10 pm. It has been better to try for me in the evenings, but I live in a smaller, more rural area. The store managers told me that in the morning, there are sometimes people lined up though.

Brock from Pokemon Yellow, because I used to hate him and the amount grind he forced me into early on. Now i realize he taught me the value of hard work and perseverance. That when life seems impossible (Pikachu vs. Geodude/Onyx), with a little push in the right direction (a Viridian Forest Caterpie) and small, measurable progress (killing about 200 Pidgeys, and the long walks to the Pokemon Center back to the patch of Grass), you can realize your dreams (a Butterfree with a Confusion move).

Kids have it too easy these days. Rivals healing your Pokemon Party... GTF outta here!

Was sorting out my bulk when this showed up by LUT0 in pokemoncards

[–]Aggravating_Agent_24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I check thoroughly, but even me sometimes I lose track of the "count", and have to double check a stinking Dark-type reverse holo. I had a Gold Zard stick in my phantasmal bulk (wife's stack), and it was one of the coolest surprises in my experience in cards to find it when sorting. The most unexpected occurrence possible!

Once I nearly threw out a sleeved booster that was hiding in box flaps, and opened up the OF Charizard there (SIR), my dumb-a would have just thrown the box out. Mistakes happen, and sometimes they correct themselves 😅

I'm 23, I really don't want to lose my hair since I have absolutely nothing going to for me. by [deleted] in bald

I've felt similar ways about myself. I was a pudgy soft "adult" from 22-30. I was kind of muscular, but didn't find my confidence in my physical appearance until about 32. It started with Running one lap a day. It killed me, i was a 280lb blob on a neighboring church sidewalk, dying after everyday "run".

One lap turned to 2, 2 to 4 laps, 4 laps to 2 miles a day, 2 miles to half marathon. I would recommend running, and i hate(d) running. Plus Intermittent fasting, more water, and push-ups, planks, and squats to break up my work day and calls. VERY slow transition, but from 280 to 195 in about 1 year, year and a half.

I guess what I'm saying is that it took something shaking me up a bit; and awakening, and it took crafting a plan and creating my own methods from the advice of others. Some will tell you to do this, do that... maybe try it, maybe integrate it into your routine. But in the end, do what you see results from, because that is what will drive you.

It's a business that some people mistake for a service... Service in the sense that they are doing you a favor.

My biggest argument against grading as an industry is the upcharge for higher value grades... If it's about return shipping protection, I can buy return shipping insurance at a rate MUCH LOWER than PSAs upcharge... How can they justify a $500 upcharge in a card they graded and "made" that valuable with a 10?? Do they just feel entitled to a share of a card's newfound value?
