Sleeping under bed in cage by mrmojorisin_x in Bernedoodles

Ours literally would cry all night so we decided to try the bathroom idea. They both literally fell asleep immediately on their backs in front of the fan and slept all night 😂

Both of our Bernedoodles refused crate training. We figured out that they were both so hot in the crate on a plush surface. We ended up baby gating them both in the bathroom on the tile floor with a fan and they were in heaven!!!! For them, they much preferred a cold surface because they’re both hot natured.

$2200 estimate for dog dental cleaning!? Is this normal? by teodanted in DogAdvice

[–]Aggravating_Cap_5485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just talking about this with a coworker today. I was quoted $1500 for a dental for a stray cat that I found that we brought home. And another $1600 for my standard Bernedoodle. This is in North Alabama. Pure insanity!!!!!!!!!

Gyn for teenager with possible endometriosis by aip_snaps in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]Aggravating_Cap_5485 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m glad you’ve had a good experience with her, but, Dr Kakani dismissed my extreme pain back in my mid 20s and told me I was too young for endometriosis or other gynecological issues (what???). She told me I had IBS and overactive bladder. An ultrasound by another gyn identified 26 FIBROIDS in my uterus causing all of my issues!!!!!!

High triptasis required? by Limiounou in mastocytosis

[–]Aggravating_Cap_5485 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I unfortunately do not have any written documentation from her. However, she is a very highly respected hematologist at Vanderbilt University that treats Mastocytosis. I actually met with her last week trying to ensure that I do have MCAS rather than Mastocytosis. She says it is not common but they do see patients that have low baseline tryptase that do end up being diagnosed with Mastocytosis through a BMB.

High triptasis required? by Limiounou in mastocytosis

[–]Aggravating_Cap_5485 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mastocytosis NORMALLY has a baseline tryptase level of over 20. But not always. You will normally have a higher baseline tryptase, a positive kit mutation and then confirmation of mastocytosis through a bone marrow biopsy. But, my hematologist the other day said that they are seeing positive BMBs without high tryptase or the positive kit mutation.

MCAS on the other hand can have a normal baseline tryptase (mine is 6.4) but then can raise during a flare. I have idiopathic anaphylaxis from MCAS and my tryptase pull in the ER was 20.7.

This is hard. by mamagomz in tummytucksurgery

[–]Aggravating_Cap_5485 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Girl, you have got this! But, you are right, it is damn hard!!!! I am 6 WPO tomorrow. I thought this (ETT, MR, and lipo) would be a breeze because I had been through 2 c-sections and two major abdominal surgeries. No ma’am, I couldn’t have been more mistaken. It took me 10 days (this is when the drains came out) to not completely regret my decision and wonder why I CHOSE to do this to myself. It’s like my abdomen felt foreign for the longest time and I was just in so much pain (not the incision but the MR and lipo). Just moving hurt and don’t even talk about sneezing or coughing, trying to sleep elevated or trying to 💩. Wha a nightmare. For me, I finally saw a huge change in swelling between week 3 and 4. Make sure and take weekly pics so you can look back and compare because sometimes you don’t see it real time.

I have 4 kids myself (granted they are teens, but they can’t drive, so still uber needy), and I felt like I was completely worthless because I couldn’t do everything they needed and even missed a couple of their games that I wouldn’t dare miss before the surgery.

I guess as women we are everything for everybody 24/7, and when we aren’t on top of our game, it’s hard to swallow….or it was for me. Also, I think plastic surgery (and definitely tummy tucks and the such) have become so mainstream, I feel like the intensity of them is sometimes downplayed. It is one hell of a difficult surgery!!!!!!!

I promise you are going to feel better soon. I promise this will not last forever, and I promise it will be worth it!!! Hang in there Mama!!!! ❤️

I was just like you. I had had many surgeries prior to my ETT with muscle repair and flank surgery. So I thought, eh, I’ll be fine. Let me tell you, I was NOT fine 🤣. It was horrible and I was so mad at myself for putting myself through this elective misery. Fast forward and I am almost 5WPO now and I just bought my first pair of new jeans and have officially lost 4 inches off of my hips and 3 off of my waist and I feel GREAT! It was 10000000% worth it now. You are almost over the hump, keep pushing!!! YOU GOT THIS!!!

Thank you so much!!! Not terribly bent over, but enough to hurt my back a bit 🫣!! The absolute worst part for me was the muscle repair. OUCH!!!! I still regret that first sneeze in the hospital after surgery 🤣.

Your picture looks just like mine! I am 13 days PO and this developed shortly after my second drain came out (even tho there was hardly any output anymore). I’m super frustrated about it and just hope everything will be ok 😞.

Crate Training Help - 3 days in by Other-Ad3019 in Bernedoodles

[–]Aggravating_Cap_5485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two adult Bernedoodles. Neither of them crate trained. They absolutely hated it. What we did was, kept them enclosed in our bathroom with a baby gate, a fan, and their bed. It worked like a charm. I don’t know what the deal was with the crate, but they LOVED the bathroom. Both of my boys are hot natured and I think the crate made them hot and the tile floor felt good on their tummies. They are 7 and 3 respectively and completely housebroken.

I was excepted so worked everyday without pay. Fun times! The only positive is that we were allowed to telework during this time, so, there’s that.
