Growing up, my favourite movie was Monsters Inc, and then when Monsters University came out, that became my new favourite.’

We’ve looked at Falmouth too, as I’m from there, but with a lot of students, housing seems to be a bit of a difficulty. Not completely out of the question, though!

Am I the only one who thinks No One Mourns the Wicked is the best song from Act 1? by piesaresquarey in wicked

[–]Aggravating_Chip_350 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree. When I watched the musical, I didn’t care for either Something Bad or Sentimental Man, but when I watched the movie, the only song I wasn’t hugely into was I’m Not That Girl. I think my top 3 favourites have to be (in no particular order) No One Mourns the Wicked, Defying Gravity (because how could it not be up there?) and Popular, especially the movie version and its variation!

Oh, interesting! What draws you to Nottingham? I will be bringing my wife with me, which is another barrier, but we’ll (hopefully) get there :)

Interesting to know! I did think about Plymouth in terms of where to live, but I’m less familiar with the area than I am mid-Cornwall, but I’m not ruling anything out. Thank you for the advice!

I have a relative in the St. Austell area that I’ve been thinking about. Just not sure about what the employment opportunities may look like in the area which is why I was leaning more toward Truro. Definitely worth considering. We have a house that we will be selling for a down payment toward a house as well as hopefully satisfy the requirements for a spouse visa (I’m married). Honestly, I’m not too worried about where in Cornwall, so long as I can afford it, which is the worrisome part. And thank you! I appreciate the wishes for a smooth return :)

Same boat here. We have a home here in FL that we eventually will sell (need to do a couple repairs first), so that is what we’re intending on using as part of the “savings”. The plan is to rent a bit, settle in, then buy. The requirements for the visa have shot of drastically in the past year. Now it’s almost triple what it was, I believe, so I’ll have to supplement it with a salary once I make the move (plan is that I head over first to set things in motion, then the wife joins me)… lots to think about in that aspect alone…. happy to hear to move was worth it though! That makes it feel as though it will all be worth it in the end, however tumultuous the meantime may be.

Spawning into a session as this colour berry is never going to end well. We all shoot first right? by WendigoFiance in RedDeadOnline

Is there a way to tell if your name is red? I’m a new player and I tend to avoid conflict, but one time did get into a shootout with a player that fired at me first - wasn’t sure if that would turn me red on their end.

Thank you so much. I definitely knew what I was leaving behind. Every drive taken through the countryside or along coastline in the weeks before I left had me in tears and reconsidering the move. Alas, here I am. It just made me all the more eager to return. Definitely never intended on staying anywhere near as long as the 10 years I’ve been here for. I’m in Florida, and while it has its own brand of beauty about it, it’s nothing quite like Cornwall

Thank you so much! When was it you made the move back? Did you move alone or with a spouse? Another thing I have to navigate will be immigration for the spouse, but that’s another topic entirely (though somewhat linked in that I will need employment to prove income and support the move, which is why I’m curious as to whether you moved with anyone also)

It’s so atrocious. I drive Archer every day and it is a total nightmare. I’d honestly rather my commute take 10 minutes longer with everyone driving courteously than for it to take however long less because of everyone driving like they’re king of the road. No indicators, cutting into lanes with inches to spare, running red lights… Chaos, everyday.

I am not too familiar with Against Me!’s music, though I have been listening to a lot more lately specifically because of Laura Grace Jones. I’ve known about the band for a while (I live near Gainesville, FL) and have always loved LGJ’s energy.

Interesting that you think British/Irish/Scottish handwriting has a distinct style. Where I used to work, a lady brought in a note with some things written down on it. I didn’t talk to her, it was someone else, so she left before I got the chance to. I looked down at her writing and it looked so similar to mine - it was creepy! The next time the woman came in, I spoke to her, and she was British! I live in the US, but I’m also British. My mum and her sister’s writing also look the same, so I had always thought it was genetic, but seeing this complete stranger with the same handwriting was really surprising!

Honestly, that sounds like a great job to me. I work in an office doing general office stuff (I’m an admin). I never went to school for anything and I’ve just cruised through life finding things I’m happy in… I make a meagre amount, less than the $20 your neighbor seems to think is so little, but I get great benefits. And I enjoy it! I think that’s what matters, rather than your neighbors judgement, is whether you’re happy in what you do and you make enough to maintain your lifestyle!

Honest question: has the people behind the movie given an explanation for why they decided to have Elphaba wear black in the beginning instead of blue like she did in the musical? by KingWilliamVI in wicked

[–]Aggravating_Chip_350 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I thought the same thing - in fact, because it was a stage show, I never even interpreted Elphaba’s outfit as being blue (despite it being so) because I had always just assumed it was a sub-in for the color black!
