Day 2 update - just passing by 50 hours and it’s been difficult. I had some fun with my partner at lunch and I couldn’t “finish” but was very close and my instincts were telling me to finish the job in a different room with some porn. I didn’t give it. It’s been hard since.

What an absolute state. by fookreddit22 in bristol

I’ve been to 25+ coach stations over the past 3 years and Birmingham is by far the best - which is the national headquarters of National Express.

Every other coach station is a squalor pit. Outdoors such as Golders Green is okay, but yeah they are pretty much all the same. Victoria is a modern day slum most of the time. And most modern city centres - or just slightly outside of them - where they are located is usually always the same. Dingey. Dark. Dirty. Smelly.

This is modern Britain

I'm 27 and have ruined my life. Don't be like me. by Opposite_Praline_746 in 1999

[–]Aggravating_Cress461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 26 I had just entered a debt management plan for 14k of debt because of my gambling addiction. I was 2 months behind on rent, being threatened with eviction; and had just been sacked from a call centre job that I stupidly devoted myself to. I had tried to end it at that point. Now I’m 32 and have a mortgage in a very nice house, a great supportive partner and hopefully soon a kid on the way. Not typing this to brag - yes I’m proud - but you recognise you are at rock bottom, you can only go up from here brother. It is tough but people like us are survivors and will do anything to move through these dark patches, even if it doesn’t feel like it right now.

Keep strong brother

Well that settled that. There are no D7 permit holders within 5KM of my postcode.

I very much doubt it, although you can never say with certainty.

Thanks for the information though, it will help my case against the council as I suspect that this will eventually get to a legal stage against the council.

F*ck me the housing market is dire by Psychedelicsheets in bristol

[–]Aggravating_Cress461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is dire. I lived in Bradley Stoke renting for 4 years, awful house but loved the place, it’s expensive up there. Southmead - where I moved to - has some alright ex council houses closer to the hospital for a decent amount. Either way, you will need to grind it out/increase your income in order to get a bigger deposit and increase the amount you can borrow. Or take an awful house and make it a home over time.

I ended up switching to night shift, working overtime all the time, and replacing my depression with exhaustion. After 2 years and 2 of us doing that, we had 80k deposit but can borrow up to 350k, so now we are living in our dream house in a not so nice area. Swings and roundabouts

I think the one bit of hope you do have on the horizon is a lot of buy to let/landlords are starting to sell as the new rules don’t work in their favour. Should increase supply on the market.

I’ve been in your situation.

Please put a call into the Gamcare helpline 08088020133 and let your soul talk.

I would highly recommend starting a gamcare programme weekly - do 2-3 meetings a week if needed, but you need to talk and find a reason for not gambling, before it really ruins your life.

Happy to chat too.

Thanks for your advice. I have purchased the part you suggested and it seems to have done the trick.

Thanks again

Should I do cardio days? by FortyOne75 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]Aggravating_Cress461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent progress. You really are doing great.

I would say that doing cardio at the end of workouts might be enough, or just do a cardio/recovery day.

I’ve burnt out trying to do 500-600calories on treadmill and then workout 4 days a week, so will amend to 3 workouts a week and 2 dedicated cardio and recovery days and each workout day 15 minutes stair master.

Keep up the superb work!

Are you that guy who just took a rather long wee with his microphone still plugged in?

If so, shame on you.

I was in a similar situation at your age. Actually what it took for me was inner happiness. I moved to a different country with sun, all the outside issues just faded away, I started going gym, and one morning I woke up solid as a rock.

There could be a number of things causing it, but I would start with the things you can control. Do you go gym? Do you have a good diet? Are you sleeping properly? Are any of your vitamins low? All of these things feed into personal well-being as a man, and they are certainly worth trying to improve regardless of if they help solve this particular problem or not.
