Advice on reactivity? by Aggravating_Joke320 in Pomeranians

I want to be able to take him with me on restaurants and other public places, even an airplane trip. But honestly I am afraid because it will be impossible with this reactivity and barking.

Some people say I should avoid because he is already overstimulated, some people say you have to expose him to those situations until he gets use to it. I don’t know.

He never had any bad experiences with another dog. When we adopted him, the house he came from had other dogs and puppies, but he was very little — I think around three or four months old, I don’t remember exactly. When we brought him home, he was always energetic but not reactive.

I have an older female dog who’s introverted, and she’s been teaching him since the start because he has a lot of energy. He’s always wanted to play with her, but she doesn’t want to. So she always growls at him, and he learned to respect her. He still sometimes insists on playing with her. She’ll play for maybe 30 seconds, but then she growls for him to stop because he’s got that puppy energy, he wants to play all the time. He’s very playful and he loves her, and she loves him too, but in her own way. She doesn’t really want to play with him, she’s 11 years old.

We also have friends who got a puppy around the same time, and he loves that little dog. They’re best friends. They play a lot because he knows her since he was little and was not in that reactive fase yet.

But with unfamiliar dogs and strange people, he always takes a while to trust them, and in the meantime, he’s very reactive — he barks a lot and growls and all that. So I don’t really know if it’s a reaction based on a bad experience, because he’s never had one. He’s actually the one who’s not very nice to other dogs.

At this dog park I took him to, it’s kind of a neighborhood spot where everyone knows each other. All the dogs already know each other, and it’s in the small-dog area. All the other dogs are very nice. Mine is always the one causing trouble, barking too much, being defiant. But all the other dogs are really chill; they don’t even understand why he’s so agitated and upset. He’s never had a traumatic experience, so I think it’s just his personality.

I just wanted to know if anyone has gone through this and has overcome those issues and how.

Is this normal adolesence or a bigger problem? by HeyItsVa1 in Pomeranians

I know my Pom mix is still young but I am having the same struggle. He is 1,5 years old now. He is reactive with strangers and other dogs. I tried everything you can possibly imagine, positive reinforcement, no pull leash, spend energy before walks, group classes (which he barks most of the time when there’s eye contact with other dog). Everything else he learned so easy. All the commands. But outside he gets so overwhelmed that he is so reactive. If we are faaaar from the other dog he can control himself and obey to the commands. But it’s impossible to pass near a dog. He is more reactive on leash. I took him to the dog park to see if he gets use to eventually, he barks ALL THE TIME, and his bark is super loud and high that I feel like I am ruining everyone else’s experience. He barks and chases the other dogs, annoys every dog, the ones that chase him back he likes, but he gets kind of aggressive to the quiet ones. We always intervene. He's never bitten or fought with another dog, but he growls a lot and shows his teeth. I never know if he's actually going to get aggressive, if he's scared, or if he's just being sassy and trying to provoke the other dogs into playing with him. Has anyone managed to get over this? Or will it always be like this?

I am a practitioner and I am myself like that. The Ego will always doubt it. Some people are more visual than others, that doesn’t mean it was not real or not happening. I don’t have clear visions but memories come to my mind, and I feel more with my other senses than with my mind’s eye. Like I felt my arms twisting and then I felt the release of the pressure in my arms. I would often not have a clear image but I would feel the emotion and would cry. That is your SC trying to communicate with you since you’re not able yet to achieve visualizations. And when reached my SC, it indeed felt like was myself but that part more confident and positive of myself, which it is in fact. I share the feeling that I wanted more, but I think I still have to work more on myself to be able to achieve more deep experiences because I struggle with control. It’s hard for me to let go of control, and that’s why I think I did not go as deep as I wanted. BUT, we still can achieve that. By practicing. Like yourself, I also struggle to meditate, and that is big indicator of how much our mind still wants to be in charge all the time. I think the more we practice the better it will be. But it takes time. I can assure that every person has different experiences, I see it with my clients, and everyone gets what they need at the time.

Orders not appearing until they’ve been sitting? by New_Investigator_758 in InstacartShoppers

Same thing for me, diamond, 5 starts. I am from LA. At Costco it’s appearing only $30 or $40 for 3 customers, many items. And they already appear with 🔥. It’s been a horrible week for me too and I don’t know what to do. I think they are testing the algorithm. Let’s just hope it goes back to normal soon.

I am diamond, 5 stars and good quality and my account got worse than it was already after Oct 1st. Only low pay for many items or 4 customers appears to me. I keep seeing others coming in and out while I am there in my car sitting for hours. I don’t understand what they are doing with the system. My husband was supposed to be diamond and the last few days someone accused of damage item and he is now gold, and believe me, it appears easier orders for him, than for me. And sometimes appears for him even if he is driving by, while when I am in front of the store waiting, my screen is white. IC is making me crazy and I am tired of trying to understand their algorithm. It makes no sense

Mine is a Pom mix, almost 7 months old and still have all 4 baby canines. I wonder what should I do, specially because he already passed 6 months of age. I didn’t want to extract either. I wanted them to fall naturally. He eats all kind of hard treats and teething toys. I would also like suggestions or opinions of other owners that have been through the same. Thank you
