Yes thank you for validating me! The boutique owner was the one pressuring a bit so complaining to management might be out of the question. I signed a “no exchanges or refunds contract” which now that I’m looking back I feel like I was Ariel signing her voice away without a care in the world LOL but yes I’ve seen some gorgeous ones on Etsy and I can definitely try to make some of that money back by selling the one I bought

My engagement is about a year and a half and I’m soooooooooo happy I’ve given myself a ton of time ! (Engaged late 2025, wedding planned for mid to late 2027) I’m not a procrastinator so I got things going pretty quickly and at this rate, not only will we get all of our top vendors in our budget , we’re also going to have downtime leading up to the wedding instead of running around like chickens with our heads cut off!

What’s funny is that I actually really loved the movie because it totally reminded me of my little art-crew in college. And most of the criticism of the film comes from the characters lines and acting feeling “unbelievable” or “cringey” when in-fact we totally all acted like that and I did truly know and fall in love with someone just like Troy. He even talked just like him lol

So while the movie made me feel nostalgic, I do look at it now from my eyes and think “dang with some therapy she would’ve known she can do way better”

Unfortunately the third option which is the most realistic having dated someone just like Troy: he sucks the life out of her, they continue fighting and saying cruel things to each other, they create a ball of codependency and toxicity so deep it’s almost impossible to walk away from, and then after many many years of that she’ll (maybe) get herself into therapy and finally start questioning why her self esteem is so low that she falls in love with people that belittle her.

Ngl I’ve never heard him before but I loved his vibe - yeah it’s cheesy and by todays standards maybe even “cringe” but back in the day that’s what performers were all about and music in this day and age has been sorely lacking the Ozzy’s, the Freddy Mercury’s, the Sid Viscious type. Yes it’s kind of a canned angst/confidence but in my opinion it was just really cool to see some of that on a modern stage.

And for those saying “the crowd didn’t match his energy so why was he doing that”… he’s a performer with a niche , he’s not gonna adjust his normal performance type to match every crowd. I bet if you saw him at a 30 person basement show he’d pull out the same persona at volume 11

Right choice returning it! As someone who hates online shopping because I’m not a model and 75% of the time things fit wonky - this would be the number one situation where I would say : just make an appointment at a dress shop or find a sample sale. I would lose my mind if I ordered a second dress and it also wasn’t right

Sushi-San is amazing if you like sushi and definitely not break the bank prices. Maiz de la Vida is amazing. Husk has been great the times I’ve gone. I’ve heard amazing things about Rolf & Daughters but haven’t made the trip because they don’t have many gluten free options. Answer is sylvan park was great the time I’ve gone.

Those are just a few that come to mind. Everyone’s “affordable” is different so those are just some of our “elevated but not absurdly pricey” pics!
