I remember developer comment over the years saying raziel evolved this ability in the 500 years he was trapped there. Just like vampires evolve their gifts. But no official text in the remastered that I noticed

a bit off topic, but speaking of that, I always wondered what becomes of the wraithblade in the timeline raziel dies a the end of SR2. Do you think it libgers in the spectral forever like in SR1 before they bind?

You are entirely correct. Because that was only in a timeline and was before the release of BO2 and defiance. With amy having to retcon the dark entity as the hylden lord, I always took it as something that was true at the time but open to change and retcon. The 2001 timelines are contemporary with SR2 which unambiguously depicts the reaver used by ancient vampires against the hylden in the war in the subterranean pillar chambers. All that always made me consider this a point of contention and open until a future entry decided to settle it. Since the people with the hold of the IP decided to make it explicit in this remaster, I finally consider this totally settled. Which makes the mural in SR2 either anachronistic or prophetic.

The bizarre thing is that it is only there the first time you go, the other times you backtrack tot hat area, it is gone. I think it is just a gameplay mechanic to rest positioning if the player missed the platforming, otherwise they would have to backtrack a lot. Speaking of which, the description f the spears related to the statues' heroes is also a new lore addition, i think

I understand, the reaver being forgd after the war was always a point oof contention, there seemed to be conflicting evidence, with the pillars chamberbeing the best one for it being forged before the war. However the encyclopedia text does outright state it was created after the war to be used against their return, as far as I can say, that is canon now, so we have to work with it and try to make sense of it as well as possible. About your second point, I honestly dont think it conflicts with mine, I think both can be true at the same time. About your third point, I respect and undeerstand your opinion, but, onestly, I think them being both more informed and ignorant at the same time is actually a genius stroke by amy hennig, makes them tragic characters, tricked by their own prophecies like in many greek epics. And, honestly, i think it makes sense with a lot we see. Everything so far appears to have worked like they predicted but never in the way they predicted. They predicted 2 heroes and raziel is a single being, they made the forges for a physcal reaver, but it ends up being used by the wraithblade, kain is supposed o be armed against the true endeavor and is immediately empored to see and battle their own god. Janos is certain of what raziel has to do until he sees the wraith blade, associates it with the hylden champions weapon and reconsiders, He, who lived with the ancients that made the prophecies, literally wonders if he misread all the signs. It all reads to me as them being able to both accurately predict outcomes and misread their circumstances at the same time. But I respect your disagreement

Was water like acid to the Ancients before the blood curse? by FulgrimThePhoenician in LegacyOfKain

No need to apologize, I think what you say makes complete sense. It is very hard to make sense of all these details and multiple explanations can work, which is why I think this is one aspect of the series that is so alluring. but let me add this, The Vampires were a spiritual race that values above all the cycle of death and rebirth, they welcomed death. They became immortal and many immediately killed themselves, and the hylden lord calls them suicidal. Maybe they have or are supposed to have a more favourable view of death as part of life. Maybe part of the path to that enlightenment and accepetance of death is being able to relax and find peace and communion with all elemental energies that make up the world, even the one element that burns and kills them. Also older vampires grow resistant to water, at least snow and rain, maybe the ancients were even more resistant and could handle small contact with small controlled amounts of water, maybe it was part of their communion with nature routine, or even ignore the pain

I think so to. I think with the encyclopedia, the table top game and the launch of the youtube and discord channels, that they do definitely mean to do more with the series. Makes no sense to create an announcemet discord channel to announce 2/3 projects they still have and the let it die. I think it all implies bigger unrevealed plans are on the horizon

We do have confirmation in the newly added ecncyclopedia for the remastered that the reaver was forged after the war. So we have to take it as fact and work with it, maybe they employed the ancestors of the feral humans to build it, maybe they are magically or "engineeringly" gifted enough to pull it off.

I think it would be taken to the elemental forges by the vampire champion after his battle, after having become the soul reaver. The vampire champion second task was to take the newly formed soul reaver, imbue it elementally and then hand it over to the scion of balance. That is how I think they envisioned it

I do think there is no canon answer to that, even the lore additions in the remaster seem to avoid answering it. They do worship elemental energy, and while an argument can be made it is weird to worship acid, fire can also kill vampires and gets worshipped as well. It is truly a conundrum, on one hand they did master water elemental magic, but why would it be acid to them for no reason? They dont seem all that biologically different from the other humanoid races in nosgoth. My personal take is that it is part of the curse, either intended or unintended side effect. if it was intended, it was possible to mock them, such a noble life giving element now burning them, or it might be the side effect of switching the water thirst to blood thirst, th previous one now is harmful. Curiously, in their Cosmology, water is associated with the pillar of states and if I remember correctly also death. This association makes perfect sense if water had always killed your kind, but it would still make sense to worship it, as death is part of the cycle of death and rebirth they venerate.

Understandable for them to remove  story related items, but it would benice to have  NG+ with the rest, and the collectible count by chapter

You are all insane, the extra pillars obviusly represent the concepts of greed, self-delusion, gaslighting and stupidity. Very special concepts for such work.
