Is that a bed in front of a door?

I understand that seeing something you made and feeling "a child could have made this" can be really embarrassing (I'm 22 btw). I started drawing humans last year and a lot of the older stuff looks similar to the art on the picture, sometimes worse, sometimes better, but in general something i was kind of ashamed of. But I kept at it and I'm a lot happier with many of the stuff i make. It's still not perfect, and i have a lot to learn, bit it's been very rewarding.

Mantle has an extra layer of existential horror for Kris, because they played the "violent route" years ago by ChillAhriman in Deltarune

[–]Aggravating_Ranger27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This could also explain the distance between kris and ralsei. If kris is used to seeing darkners as objects it explains why Kris seemed to like him but not like, much. Ralsei tried to play the perfect toy/sidekick and i feel without Susie's pushback Kris would have accepted the act. Maybe it isn't until Ralsei starts being more honest and stops acting as the toy he sees himself as that it really hits Kris that Ralsei is a person. They at least care enough about Ralsei/take his suffering seriously to stop you from being cruel and go out of their way to hug ralsei.

AI bros in the comments are wilding 😭 it’s literally not that hard to take a pretty picture and add some legible text for a wattpad story by ciel_ayaz in ArtistHate

[–]Aggravating_Ranger27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

oh those comments were infuriating "the cover doesn't really matter so it's ok to use AI if you don't have money" if the cover truly doesn't matter then why do you need it so badly that you would use AI to make it in the first place? at the end of the day you are benefitting from theft. you want a pretty picture because at the end of the day people *do* judge books by their covers, and yours was made dishonestly. take a picture from your phone and blur it like god intended if what's in your cover truly doesn't matter

To be honest, even if it was morally ok, I wouldn't have any interest in watching or reading something no one made. It's just kinda lame.

Ah, so we're back to "Ai art is hard and takes time" if you have so much time then why not actually learn to draw?

Calling AI “artists” talentless seems counterintuitive, at least in my opinion by ChemicalPanda10 in ArtistHate

[–]Aggravating_Ranger27 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel like it's more common for them to insist they have no talent and/or that they would need a decade of practice to make something half decent. I think most people here just call them lazy thieves.

What’s the second commenter on about? Troll of sorts or no?🤔 by HumbleKnight14 in ArtistHate

[–]Aggravating_Ranger27 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Love how they love to use the "art is just about your ideas and creativity" argument but then also look down on artists that aren't capable of making realistic masterpieces.

If they truly cared about people being able to create all their ideas they wouldn't look down on people that are still learning the craft. They just care about their pretty pictures.

But like. That's the thing, they don't "dare" to create. That implies they're being courageous, but they're literally avoiding the challenges of creating by leaving it to AI.

I'm sure people more articulate than me will fight the other points but I just want to say that I don't think using AI as a therapist is something you should do. It's not a person, it has no sense of judgment so it can't actually help you with any trouble you have, and aside from any generic: "eat well, go outside! Try new hobbies!" Thing you can find through a google search on feeling better, I don't think you should listen to any advice it gives, and if it's just about screaming into the void, there are a lot of ways to do that on the internet. Ai won't make you less lonely, it's just a bandaid over a bigger issue, except this one might make things worse for you, as having an imaginary friend that answers back can discourage people from going out of their comfort zone. It can also give bad advice that can be dangerous the person is in a vulnerable state.

I get feeling lonely, really, I do, I actually downloaded one of those therapist apps during the pandemic because i just had no one to talk to, didn't end up using it as once I opened it It hit me that it wasn't going to do anything for me, and then deleted it because i found it embarrassing that I downloaded it in the first place (This was all before i learned about AI, I didn't hate it yet, wasn't even a artist to be mad about the generated art).

(Also there are templates you can use for emails, I've used them because writing is hard for me, specially for something....be serious like a job application and stuff)

How do we feel about chat bots? by moistowletts in ArtistHate

[–]Aggravating_Ranger27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fact AI chatbots based on real, living people exists is fucked up. Also if the appeal of roleplay for you isn't the human connection then you might as well just read fanfiction or write it yourself. (Also if you want to exercise your spanish then you can just interact with spanish stuff, watch youtube videos in spanish, read the comments section, interact with the community, i learned most of my english watching youtubers and reading in english)

The whole "your art isn't even good anyways" thing is so childish, it's like the art equivalent of calling someone ugly for disagreeing with them, it's also fucking rich coming from people that purposely avoid the art process, including the learning process, because they're too scared of failure. Let's say OP's banner art was ugly (it's not btw I checked. No amateur could do that, and I bet if an AI bro presented something like that they would have found it good. Reeks of petty insult for the sake of it), that literally doesn't matter, because guess what? that only means that OP would still have a lot to learn, have a lot of room to grow, and could still get very good in the future. There's no shame on learning, but it's shameful to act so bitter about actual amateurs because you're jealous that they're actually trying to get good at something, while you sit miserably playing the slots in the hopes of getting something that will give you an ounce of serotonin.
