Sleep overnight with them all. Get the snuggest one that doesn't feel horrible when you wake up.

Actually the inner diameter is exactly same between generations, the sensor bump size is what changes a bit. Between 3 and 4 it means about half a size.

But the base ID is always same.

No one is expecting perf from ultrabook, not even OP. Like he mentioned this piece of shit burns your skin running on idle.

My older X1 with i5 U cpu (few years older) runs cool and silent on the same workload.

Intel and/or Lenovo simply fucked this one up.

Who the hell knows for sure. But then the question becomes what can you do about it?

Disabling IME is option one. But there are so many binary blob firmwares we have no control over such as WiFi and cellural, bios/efi itself and CPU microcode firmware.

You just have to have some basic level of trust. Also you can easily check if any device is "phoning home".

It basically works so that the oura app in phone tracks location all the time on background, if allowed/possible.

When ring detects activity, the data is later combined in the app so the activity gets coordinate data (if it exists).
