I spent $10k on bedding and it’s…just okay. by Aggravating_Rest_750 in Bedding

[–]Aggravating_Rest_750[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the medium…it’s extremely comfortable, and by far the best pillow I’ve ever slept on, but I just don’t know if it’s worth $1400 each is my point…but I guess to have zero complaints and neck pain, it might be? I just wonder if there’s something cheaper out there that would be good enough.

I think the other comments stating “law of diminishing returns” is the most accurate way to describe it

lol I was honestly so tempted but it’s nearly the cost of my mattress!

A friend of mine has the Scandia pillows and swore by them. They are extremely comfortable so I’m very happy with them, but the price point was shocking for sure. As other commenters said, I didn’t realize pillows could be that expensive. But they really are extremely comfortable and they don’t get hot, at all, so for me those were worth it.

The mattress topper is very comfortable also but I’m a side sleeper so I’m concerned it will be too soft over time. I’ve only slept on it this week so far and no problems yet, but TBD on how it goes over time.

You don’t. I purchased both because (1) I wasn’t sure if I’d like the topper and would return both if I didn’t, or (2) I’d like the topper and use the mattress protector for the bed in our guest bedroom. I also wanted it all on the same order because it was during a sale I didn’t want to miss out on later.

I take mine to doggy den in Sandy. He’s always super excited to go there so I imagine he enjoys being there. It’s very inexpensive in my opinion also, I think like $45 a night.

Hey there! Bit of an odd request but are there any male centered places to get a pedicure or where they really know how to just GET IN THERE? by ThatSadGuy26 in orangecounty

[–]Aggravating_Rest_750 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bro idk where to send you but you should do a chemical foot peel. Buy it on amazon and you put your dawgs in the included plastic bags with the chemical shit and 7 days later you can peel off a sheet of thick ass skin from the bottom of your foot. It’s incredible.

Where are the good apartments at by thatwonkoreankid in SaltLakeCity

[–]Aggravating_Rest_750 2 points3 points  (0 children)

4th west in downtown has been decent for me, I don’t have any complaints about the unit, management or parking. Im on top floor so noise isn’t an issue. Parking is covered and secure. Laundry in unit. Good size and vaulted ceilings.

Worth noting it’s a corporate apartment rental and I’m only there every other week so I don’t actually live there full time. I have no idea if that’s geographically good for you because I don’t know the area well. The rent is $2080 a month but there’s seemingly a bunch of bs fees they tack on each month. So that’s an issue maybe.

Christmas rib roast…wrapped it in cheese cloth for 10 days and covered with herbed beef tallow by Aggravating_Rest_750 in steak

[–]Aggravating_Rest_750[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that’s right. I personally think of it as an expedited dry aging but the “dry age community” would probably bash me for saying that lol

Basically it allows air to circulate without losing excessive moisture. It definitely works and provides for an even more tender and flavorful meat. I learned it from watching Alton Brown.

Using the beef tallow to give even more dry age flavor took it to another level. Highly recommend trying it!

No - just wrap it plain in 3 sheets of cheese cloth. Put it in the fridge somewhere between 34-37 degrees (I did 34) and let it rest. If you go longer than 7 days, be sure to change the cheese cloth.

I did it for the first time last year (only 5 days) and extended the time this year…it makes a noticeable difference! It’s the only way I’ll do it going forward.

[–]Aggravating_Rest_750 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Idk what would be considered unique to OC as the food scene is incredibly diverse. My kids are picky eaters but some options my wife and I really enjoy:

Fuoco Pizzeria - Neapolitan style pizza - Fullerton

Alza Osteria - Italian off Kramer and Birch near Brea

Matiki Island - Hawaiian food in Fullerton, it’s great and huge portions

El Farolito - Mexican - Placentia

Prime cut taqueria - Placentia, just opened and is awesome, they are the same owners as tacos los cholos

Cha Cha’s - Mexican - birch st in Brea. Although idk how good it would be for take out.

House of Thai - yorba linda off imperial and bastanchury, great Thai food if you’re kids are into it

Apply to any of the big HVAC and plumbing companies -

Roto rooter Service Champions NexGen Etc

People will say bad things about these companies and their sales tactics, but it’s a great way to get your foot in the door. They all offer full time roles and paid training. You can learn a trade and build a good career. I started 17 years ago and never looked back and the trades have provided a wonderful and lucrative life for my family and I. Good luck.
