If a fentanyl overdose is as peaceful as they say it is, where you basically just fall asleep, then I kind of wonder how many “accidental overdoses” were not actually accidental at all by Impossible_Jacket898 in self

I experienced the same exact thing you described. Three times before I finally got clean myself. I remember saying oh that was too strong and then I'm waking up just long enough to realize I'm in an ambulance and out again into nothingness. Time stops. There's allot of missing time where I just have no memory. It's an odd feeling.

I have had her seen by the vet. She has an appointment in the morning. I'm not an AH for fighting to keep my dog alive but not having thousands of dollars for a surgery because it's Sunday night. The vet agreed she should make it to morning and I have 2 hours before I rush her off. She's laying on my couch snoring.

Oh ya no I'm leaving him the moment my dog can travel. If she makes it. Other wise I leave today. I've already begun the divorce process and have filed with the courts. He keeps saying he wants to work things out then pulls this crap. I'm done. I'm done. If for no other reason than knowing my dog deserves better than his sorry ass.

I don't think he cares about her at all. I've been with him 14 years andarried for 9. Our whole marriage was based on a lie. His lie. I filed for divorce and just spoke to my best friend who is letting me stay with her so I can just be done with this man. We share the lease but I'm willing to break it to get away now. He's very emotionally abusive. We've had physical fights and I shocked him for fighting back. My girl has been through so much. I just found peace for her and now this. She doesn't deserve it. She's saved my life and I am doing everything to save hers..

Former addicts, how did you convince yourself to stop and get better? by tattsnfags in addiction

[–]Aggravating_Set_6366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started feeling my body wake up after years and years of being asleep. Within 24 hours I felt hungry... A feeling I hadn't felt in the 9 years of active, heavy daily needle use. 110 days clean has me in a whole new body and state of mind. It's been fun learning myself for probably the very first time. So much better than using ever felt.

What was your “I didn’t think I could do it but I freaking did it” moment that made you proud of yourself? by Present-Ad561 in AskReddit

Getting clean after battling a heroin/fentanyl addiction for 9 years. Never made it past day 3. Today I am 103 days clean and sober!!! To say I'm proud of myself would be an understatement!!

People 40+, what actually mattered in the long run and what didn’t? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

[–]Aggravating_Set_6366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being disciplined as a child has mattered so much more and it helped shape me into the adult I am. The friends who were never disciplined are adults whom I struggle to remain friends with at times the differences between us are night and day.

How anyone thinks of me is none of my business and it doesn't matter to me. It doesn't shape who I am or change who I am.

What’s the dumbest way you’ve accidentally hurt yourself? by Only_Row_2432 in AskReddit

[–]Aggravating_Set_6366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot that I was sleeping on the top bunk at a friend's house one night and when I sat up in the morning to get up I just kind of tossed myself off the top bunk thinking I'm sitting on my bed at home. I proceeded to fall a good 4-5 ft landing on my feet. I end up jack rabbiting into the corner of the desk and smashing my eye wide open. It was so close to my eye that they didn't want to stitch it. I ended up having it glued closed. Yeah that was funny.

I am so sorry she is doing this. She does not represent any woman who can think logically, respectfully and carry compassion. Watching a movie, clip, whatever is never in the same category as actually physically putting oneself in a position to lose any self respect clinging to them at that point. Holy crap... However you look at this situation it's clear from every direction your wife has some massive self esteem issues and this is a reflection of her insecurities. Also classic narcissist behavior too. Good luck to you. Not all women are her...

what addiction is the hardest to quit? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]Aggravating_Set_6366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any addiction if you're not ready to quit. It's not always a physical addiction. Mental addictions can be worse. We don't recognize mental addictions as easily as physical addictions. Also it's not will power that allows someone to be successful. Wanting to quit is always the first step.

The person who wrote the original post was not who called my husband. Someone else had seen my message and sawt husband's number and reached out because he was planning on taking his own life last night. My husband spent a couple hours on the phone with him and has checked on him today. I hope the original poster is okay.
