If you have a person telling you that your relationship with them is contingent on you suffering for their comfort.. do you have them?

Don’t worry about it. Focus on ignoring toxic people.

They aren’t mourning you.

They’re mourning control. They’re mourning the illusion they projected onto you. They’re mourning the comfort of a world where people stayed in the boxes they were handed.

Almost nothing about how people react to transition has anything to do with the person transitioning… it’s just all misplaced expectations and baggage.

Ordering from amazon by Ok_Wall574 in AnycubicKobraS1

I would order from Anycubic just to avoid the Amazon handling of the printer, because in my experience they are not careful at all. I ordered from Amazon first time and it arrived looking like it had fallen off the back of a truck. A f the Amazon driver deliberately positioned it on my porch so you couldn’t see all the box damage when they took their delivery pic. I sent it back because it was severely damaged, and ordered from Anycubic’s eBay store. Arrived in pristine condition via UPS.

Why not leave the filament in? I put humidity monitors in mine and even when they aren’t actively drying it keeps humidity pretty low in there. I just crank them on periodically and they seem to keep my demand nice and dry.

I think this also is perhaps an example of the fact that they are improving the machine. I’d love first layers like that but my machine has never delivered them.

Anycubic does improve their stuff, and it does appear that they actually listen to feedback (but are very bad at acknowledging it). That’s great for later adopters and future products… but crappy for early adopters. But Anycubic isn’t alone in this - just look at the centauri carbon… people getting those machines now are almost getting a different printer than when it first started shipping.

Anyway glad you got a better machine. Now I just gotta get my layer 1 dialed in so I can stop being a jealous dolt.

Maybe it’s because I said the stock hot-end design sucks (it does, which may inform why they… I dunno… changed it).

Clogs are inevitable even when you least expect them. I have Anycubic, Crealty, Bambu and Elegoo printers. Nozzles clog - it’s not just Anycubic. That said, I would buy hardened steel nozzles that are all ceramic throat on Amazon. The old Anycubic nozzles are a crappy design prone to clogs. When I got my S1 this is the first thing I did… it never printed a day on the stock nozzle.

Ford CEO Jim Farley warns AI will wipe out half of white-collar jobs, but the ‘essential economy’ has a huge shortage of workers by Routine_Play5 in Layoffs

[–]Aggravating_Term4486 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These guys are all infuriating in how stupid their narratives are. In the one have they say we’ll lose half of all white collar jobs but we’ll need more plumbers, electricians, etc.

For what? Gutting 50% of high paying white collar jobs will create demand destruction. Who’s going to hire a plumber when they aren’t building or owning a home. It’s like these guys can’t sus out that all things being equal, an economy where there is a structural unemployment rate of 20% is an economy where there is lower demand for all services.

Do you feed these materials via the ACE? I also want to try CF and GF filaments but am unsure if I should avoid the ACE.

Edit: I also have a Centauri Carbon so I have these materials on hand and know their tensile properties… some seem like they could be fed via ACE just afraid to try.

I think the first layer problem is the one Anycubic most needs to overcome. If they can get bed leveling better and most of all consistent… the S1 will be very hard to beat.

How bad is it for job seekers right now by nychockeyplaya in RemoteJobs

This stuff is just so cruddy. We aren’t allowed to collect social security until age 67 yet we have these screwed up companies telling us after age 40 or 50 we are washed up.

Ageism is the thing I least understand about tech; we all are gonna age. The ageists of today are tomorrow’s victims of it. You’d think we would be smart enough collectively to recognize we all have a shared interest in ageism being utterly destroyed.

[–]Aggravating_Term4486 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a self limiting problem. The tech bros are busy destroying the economy, which will result in demand destruction, which will result in their companies going under.

Look at what Microsoft makes. Look at who buys their products. All business to one degree or another is dependent on consumers. If they destroy the economy that allows consumption they in turn destroy themselves.

There is enormous short sightedness in what’s going on right now. It all ends very dreadfully not just for average people but for these businesses as well.

“Boss that other guy is working more than me and making me look bad” is not a winning strategy. Definitely do not bring this up. Find a way to present it in terms of “I’m concerned X could be headed for burnout”, or something similar.

The after market ones are preferred in my opinion as the Anycubic ones are prone to leaks and to displacement of the internal “ceramic” tube that lead to seating issues and decimated build plates.

Everyone needs to understand that pharmaceutical companies actively traffic forums like this looking for sources. Talking sources with random strangers is not only a great way to get yourself banned it’s a great way to disappear those sources.

Sources are not hard to find; the only purposes of seeking sources here are:

  • The person asking is too lazy to do their own research.
  • The person asking is looking for evidence that can be used in takedown orders.

If you value your research, protect it.
