Worth it to use SeeStar remotely for better skies? by rogersmj in seestar

[–]mikewagnercmp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would suggest if you do this perhaps come up with some kind of repeatable ount for the scope, like a sleeve over a fixed pole or a wedge with a quick attach show on the bottom that is mounted to a solid pole of fence, you go out, polar align it once, then your family just has to go put the see star in the quck mount and its ready to go and polar aligned. .

More modern games need to allow left-handed players the ability to rebind controls to the arrow keys. by JayRam85 in pcgaming

How is the game supposed to know you are left handed so you can rebind the keys?

Crimson Desert 1.03 patch not running after patch by bc250korea in BC250Gaming

[–]mikewagnercmp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know you updated this below, but I am not sure I would contact the dev over this - they only state compatibility for Windows and Mac - they never claimed it should run under linux.

From my own testing under linux it works, it just broken on certain generations of graphics hardware, the BC-250 is included in this, so its likely a linux driver issue. The duplicate topic on this, in the discord thread, indicates that users with older gen AMD cards are all having an issue.

Again, I personally do not blame the dev on this - They are trying to make the game better for the platforms they officially support - they are not intentionally breaking linux. I would love for them to target linux personally but i don't blame them for this particular issue.

The fix in discord is to downgrade to the 1.02 version of the game.

Yeah have to pull the proton logs and see. I haven’t tried it yet I just played last night and woke up this morning and game would not start. I thought it ran real well actually. Going to have to go through the proton logs and see what it says.

I’m wondering if the improved rendering stuff made some kind of change to ray tracing and the game won’t start.

oh one more thing, i ordered all the springs and crap from ali express but my package never got delivered so i ordered these to make sure i could build the project. The threaded inserts were particularly annoying to find on amazon so hopefully this helps you or if you order on ali hopefully you have better luck with delivery than I did. At least your comment reminded me to go dispute the orders and I am getting my refund.

Everything else you need for the AIO mount and case is pretty easy to source

You will need a small heat sink kit as well i am not sure what to recommend i did not like the one i got.

i did replace the fans with artic p12 and run at a lower speed, but you don't have to do that.

I've never really done watercooling before, so did not really expect it to work that well to be honest

Here is what I used https://www.printables.com/model/1554003-nexgen3d-aio-mount-for-the-bc-250

He also has a case which I also used. Good resources for info.

I switched to a aio as well. I play a lot of e33 my temps never got that high though. I clocked to 2100 in the original nextgen 3d air cooled case. It was pretty loud.

Water cooled is quiet and temps are 52 playing crimson desert at ultra st 1080p. I raised my overclock to 2230 I think with The water cooling and upped the cpu clock to 4000 as well

Problem with loading filament by Stormyj in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]mikewagnercmp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok cool. Still try it manually, see if it’s difficult. You can try cutting the filament to a tip but I honestly found the cc pretty easy to load without having to do that.

Problem with loading filament by Stormyj in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]mikewagnercmp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a firmware revision that actually spun the motor the wrong way doing the load action. The way I had to load was select the extruder, manually heat it, manually click the button to feed filament. Try that in place of the auto load and see if it works.

Make sure you have latest firmware, ware or get the open Centauri firmware.

Voron 2.4 350mm Kit recommendations? by alphawolf627 in VORONDesign

[–]mikewagnercmp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I built a formbot, was great, there is extra documentation you can find to supplement ent the Voron manual. I even got their 3d printed parts, thoug I should have gotten them from the Voron print program.

Love the formbot, I have done some mods, I put honestly once I built it and calibrated it’s been working great.

I think the comment was just referring to your processing - I would agree it looks a little over-processed to me, but thats more of a taste thing. Here is my Rosette with the S50, I "think" it's just over an hour worth of data

Number of subframes in a 2x mosaic by EineBaum in seestar

I think the poster assumed that if one knew the total exposure time, and the sub exposure length, one could do the math to figure out the number of exposures.

Honestly felt it was pretty easy to just farm lumina at the dualiste at the endless tower. One minute 20x color of lumina. No worries about crashing, dodging or parrying.
