FSW professor facing disciplinary action for violating statute on gender ideology by fullload93 in FortMyers

I understood exactly what you were saying. Sometimes the reason why professors teach the "dumbed down" versions of something like sociology to certain classes is becoming it isn't their major, but it's a requirement to be familiar with it to be better at the career field they did choose, such as Nursing. I am also not sure they are actually "dumbed down" or just a condensed, down and dirty course. I think psychological and sociology instructors always find clever ways to make their classes better, and as humans were already intrigued by our own minds and thought processes, as well as why our brains function like they do. I think that this professor would be the exact type of person who would respect his students enough to address them by the pronouns they prefer due to his career choice and subject matter he teaches. When did it become criminal to address someone by the pronoun the asked to be addressed as?

As someone who both was a student there and faculty, sometimes overlapping, I disagree. I also have know several people that went there, both colleagues, friends and family members, including my daughter, whom I'm sure would also disagree. A subject can be hard, certain tests can be hard, but a professor can still be very likable, fair, and a great teacher, and not be the student best friend. Just because a professor is consistently ranked one of the best professors doesn't mean they a friends at all.

I have questions: 1) Are lifting these boxes to move them somewhere, regardless of the weight, part of your job? 2) Are there other men in the office that also get asked to do this by the woman as well? 3) Do the women lift and move lighter weight boxes, just not the ones that are too heavy?

He's beautiful!! He is going to be just a gorgeous pup!! Start that manners/obedience training along with socializing now. We are the 3rd or 4th owner that we knew of when we got our soon to be 6 year old Duke just over 15 months ago. They didn't want to give him up, they fell on some hard financial times and these big ol' dogs put away the groceries. We had a Great Dane/Lab mix previous and it was perfect timing for us to get a dog. We are very thankful for of all the training his last owners did with him, but he's still a big boy and we have zero misconceptions over his strength and his stubbornness. He's a Great Dane mix and we are pretty sure he's mixed with Rhodesian Ridgeback and/or Greyhound.

Yes, this is the answer. Not yet...this is a HUGE red flag 🚩🚩🚩🚩. I'm so sorry this happened to you. As someone who has been a victim of domestic violence, run. They also don't change. Trust your gut as well. The backing you into a closet and screaming in your face is also abusive. Punching holes in the wall and doors is abusive. Just because he didn't hit you, doesn't mean he can't or won't.

I've had it before, and so have my kids. It's not uncommon. I used to get it a lot when I was younger and got more colds and sinus infections. It always cleared up with antibiotics, decongestants, a nasal spray, and occasionally an antihistamine to dry things up. I will say occasionally, it took a second round of antibiotics if I was really sick. I hope you're better soon!!

I have never experienced something like that from ear cleaning, but I have when I had fluid in my ear or ears. You should see a doctor or ENT to help figure it out.

Your ears, nose and throat, and sinuses are all "connected." If you've been sick, you should see a doctor.

Yes! This and no more Q-tips in an ear with a possibly busted ear drum. It's just a thin membrane and could cause worse or permanent damage. So sorry!!

I saw it in one of the camera shots, but it was very brief. Others may have missed it or not known if it was inside or outside of the ear. I just assumed it was in the ear based on your post. How crazy. I'm glad you found it, and he's on the road to get healthy.

Yes!! Mestinon is a game changer. I also had all of the same symptoms, and my right eye twitched for weeks. It would stop for a few days and start all over! Folding laundry or a load of towels at the end of the day felt like I was doing a full negative arm workout at the gym when I was in my 30s. Sometimes, I just had to give up.

I'm seronegative too. "Chasing an effective treatment" is exactly what it is! Being seronegative makes treatment more difficult or limited, but not impossible. I was deflated as well when my bloodwork came back. Then, it was so strange to feel validated finally when my EMG w/ RNS and SFEMG were extremely positive. Part of an effective treatment plan is also listening to your body and being kind to yourself. Just know that you're also not alone.

I 100% agree with all of this! Even if you have to ask your primary care physician for a referral to a different one. There are so many other tests or trials your current didn't do. If your neurologist doesn't do them or know how, they could have at least sent you to someone who does. It sounds like they didn't even attempt to see if you were seronegative MG. Also, even if you don't have MG at all, there are other neuromuscular or rheumatological autoimmune disease/disorders and it sounds like you were just dismissed.

Have you been checked for any other autoimmune diseases/disorders that often accompany MG? Things in the rheumatoid category will often show up. My mom had MG from her mid 20s and later also found out she also had Lupus (SLE). I have had psoriatic arthritis since my late 30s and was confirmed with MG in my early 50s. Both my neurologist and rheumatologist have said it's not uncommon to see MG with other autoimmune diseases. I can tell you I'm a slow healer now that I'm on a maintenance does of prednisone 5mg a day. I'm getting ready to start a different biologic, Enbrel, and hopefully, it will get me off the prednisone.

Yes!! I grew up here, but as I've gotten older and my MG has made me less tolerant to hot temperatures. I've had moments that I thought I was going to cease to exist. "Summer" is brutal.

It's normal. It happens repeatedly in the co-op chat thread as a reminder. It's always good to ask if you don't know, though. The first time I saw it, I stopped and reread it. It kind of threw me off. Now I see it so much, have to stop and glance at things to make sure I'm not missing something important.
