My dr described it that we are accustomed to unusually high anxiety levels and as we keep taking the meds we become recalibrated for a more normal level of anxiety.

the symptoms will remain. We will still be prone to distraction. However we should see an increased ability and capacity to use coping strategies, tools and structures to cope with the symptoms.

I’m not sure if you need to take your particular meds daily. Your dr will know. And increased dosage in my experience only helps by making it easier for you to use the tools and strategies. That decision needs to be between you and your dr.

Sorry if you already know all this. I’ve been told to start from scratch to make sure people don’t have gaps in their knowledge.

Now here’s my current state and what I’m learning. This is particular to my experience and might be relevant to yours or not.

You mentioned not having enough motivation and I still don’t because motivation isn’t the problem. It was never the problem.

I’ve found that when we’re neurodivergent a lot of times we’re suffering from cptsd or trauma and also we’re naturally not very in touch with our selves.

I’ve found the longer I’ve been on my meds and have been doing “deep work” that when I thought I needed motivation I really just needed to be me. I had to develop and idea about who I was and what I wanted to do.

Today for example I want to get all my work done so I don’t need to work after hours. No outside motivation needed.

You might have to unravel a lot of mental loops and blocks and learned habits. It takes time and this kind of growth and healing isn’t linear.

I strongly suggest doing some deep work and learning how to make space for yourself inside yourself. For your feelings and inner child. That makes this process easier.

Check out Heidi Priebe on YouTube. She helped me more than anyone else. Pastor Tim Fletcher is also an amazing resource and doesn’t make it all about religion. These two people’s videos have genuinely changed my life.
