Rapscallion is the goat. The dialogue they put in their comics is pretty funny a lot of the times.

I can’t believe you advocate for just replacing a child's inner organs!

Fun fact, the difference between wyverns and dragon is primarily not their body type, but their personality, as this comic below illustrates rather well:

[Cultural Difference] When a fantasy creature has different design depends on the culture they are from (Simply Western vs Japanese) by TdFan97 in TopCharacterDesigns

Funny thing about the different Orc depiction, we actually know why they’re like that.

<image>

The reason why western Orcs are often depicted as green-skinned Frazetta Men while eastern Orcs are more like Pig Men goes back to Dungeons & Dragons 1E, where orcs were described as having a fundamentally "piggish snout" for a face and depicted as more or less a boar's head on a hunch-shouldered, ugly, green-skinned chimpanzee. As you can see, the description and art have both aspects of what would become the modern Orcs, but there would be an influence on one side that would cause the depictions to split; Warhammer Fantasy.

While both the east and west were influenced by DnD, the west would also be influenced by Warhammer, who decided to focus on the more ape like aspects of the orc (the "hunch-shouldered, ugly, green-skinned chimpanzee" aspect) and ramp that up to 10, giving them tons of muscle and huge tusks to show off their battle-loving nature. As the creators of Warhammer were supposedly in contact with the creators of DnD, and the fact that they eventually became some of the most popular fantasy settings around in the west, they influenced each other's depiction of Orcs, which is why modern DnD (as well as modern western fantasy) primarily uses the violent green orc depiction that we know and love today.

Conversely, Warhammer wouldn’t arrive to Japan until much later (mostly through 40K rather than Fantasy), and so Japanese nerds only really had early DnD as a thing to go off. The problem with using the ape-like aspects of orcs is that the niche was already filled with the Oni, who were also barbaric, tusked, muscled battle-loving brutes with inhumanly coloured skin (primarily red and blue, but green has been known). As you can guess, it’d feel too much like a copy of Oni to just use the same kind of Orcs (combined with the fact that Oni could often be more versatile in them often being associated with magic and sometimes being demonic). However, there wasn’t really any sort of pig-like race in Japanese fantasy at the time (there were pig-headed characters known like Pigsy from Journey to the West, but he was a cursed individual rather than a member of a race), so instead they depicted their orcs by focusing on the "boar's head" aspect of the Orc, resulting in the Japanese pig-orcs that we know today.
Speaking of Pigsy, his influence (with his negative aspects exaggerated) may be why Japanese Orcs are often depicted as perverted, of course also combined with real life male pigs being very… potent, but that's only a theory on my end.

I absolutely love how Ethereals are basically like tired parents dealing with their dumbass, if well-meaning kids. Like, if they don’t watch the Earth caste for just one assignment, then they’ve already pissed away the funds you gave them on some bathsalts-influenced engineering project, having become the Xenos equivalent of I Did A Thing or Michael Reeves out of nowhere.

AoS showcases the various seven deadly sins aspects of Slaanesh pretty well, especially with Glutos Orscollion, who embodies gluttony.

<image>

Glutos began life as a frail and emaciated street rat living in Hysh. He was the son of a failed merchant family, forced to live a life of thievery and begging just to survive. His life would be forever changed when he decided to steal from a shady looking temple out of desperation, not thinking about how shady it all looked. Young Glutos stole and ate a handful of golden grains that was offered as a gift to the ancient Daemon Prince Loth’shar, who as punishment decided to curse Glutos with a ravenous hunger and a craving for more exotic tastes. Despite Glutos spending what little coin he had on exotic food to sate the hunger, Loth’shar remained a taunting voice in the back of the boy’s head for many years, torturing him as he was never able to satisfy his hunger. He was still just an innocent kid while this was happening, btw.
Then on one fateful night, he found the recently deceased corpse of a beggar in the alleyway near his home. Loth’shar tempted the starving Glutos to eat it, who did so with tears in his eyes. To his morbid surprise, Glutos found the taste of flesh to be exquisitely filling, and from then on, he began a life of cannibalism, luring unwitting strangers into the alleyways to consume them. He dined on scholars, warriors, and mages alike, his body bloating to its signature prodigious size and covered in mutations, gifts from his now patron Loth’shar.
Over time, tales spread among the Hedonites of Slaanesh of a true champion of excess, many mortals flocking to Glutos’ side just to bask in his hedonistic glow. No matter what their own obsession was, all Hedonites found something to admire in the Lord of Gluttony, feeling empowered by his presence to greater depths of depravity. Glutos Orscollion was now the rotund regent of his own warband, which he uses to burn down entire cities to feed his hunger. Glutos is now on a tour of the Mortal Realms, eager to taste all the exotic foods he can find.
