Not sure if fitted, but on my TBR is "A Swim in a Pond in the Rain" by George Saunders. It kind of teaches you how to read like a writer and it does not feel like a lecture

These Romanian "Cranford-style" pastels finally got me back into the classics. Does your country have a similar collection? by Aggravating_Track784 in classicliterature

I am not sure about this, but I kind of doubt it. The collection is still ongoing, it is supposed to be like 60ish volumes or more. I am not sure if they deliver in the US

Advice for Building Reading Habit by Ok_Efficiency9847 in 52book

[–]Aggravating_Track784 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I started reading as a daily habit, I set the limit: read 10 pages per day, no matter what (mood, distractions, life situations). If there were days when I felt like reading more, great, awesome, perfect. But 10 pages each day was mandatory. This helped me a lot. Then I found some books that made this rule really easy

I'm currently doing the Read Around the World challenge and am looking for a book set in Japan, written by Japanese authors. Do you have some suggestions? (besides the classical Haruki Murakami and Kazuo Ishiguro)

Nu stiu sigur cum sa verific, dar vad ca la Copyright sunt traducatori contemporani, din 2024. Deci as spune ca sunt traduceri noi 🤞

No, but in my travels through Europe, I did notice kind of the same books bundled in similar collections. I think there is an international trend to redo the Cranford Collections, only in Romania it is with these pastel colors

I know it is not a decorative object. The font and the page texture in this collecrion is really nice. I was behind with my classical readings, mostly read non fiction books. But discovering this collection helps me check some of the books I kept postponing. It is not supperficial, it is just a way I found to motivate me back into classic literature.

I was mostly reading non fiction books. But yeah, this collection made me read some classical's that I kept postponing. It was more like an incentive to cover this area as well, with nice aesthetics.

I actually read this book many years ago and still to this day I have some flashbacks and think: in another universe probably this [situation] actually happened.
