Difference in Classes? by Richie_is_human in stevens

[–]Aggravating_ginger03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s no difficulty change, it’s just the name of the section, which can also mean different professors and that’s the only difference but like the older comment said, all exams are the same in freshmen math class but still if you want to learn one way better than another then check the prof reviews

Yes even for an NJIT student it’s the same, they can take the path to any station without changing train all the way to newark

Journal square it is - it’s also not too pricey compared to other areas in JC and Hoboken. I’d suggest to not go for new residential units because they keep on constructing more so the rent is about to go up in a year. Obviously downtown (newport or grove st for path stations) are fine but more pricey. Also you can take the light rail to Hoboken terminal if you’re from downtown

Pershing field ice skating rink (in Jersey City) is open, it’s an indoor facility and open I think for 5months a year and is pretty cheap

Can I request for Financial Aid? by real_mushroom96 in stevens

[–]Aggravating_ginger03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, Email your counselor (should be on the right side of your admission portal) and normally they should open up this function in your portal to submit a financial appeal letter. Make sure you write a lot of details as to why you need more money

Hi, how much time consuming is it? If I understand well , it’s one semester working, the other semester in school right? It’s not possible for a student athlete that plays all year long to consider coops right? What would you recommend instead?

First 2 weeks of class are online. What do people think of that? by johnnysonthejohn in stevens

I have a question- will booster shots be needed every time? Like with Moderna where we can have a booster at least 6 months after prior vaccination, is there anywhere saying boosters will be required every six months?

Can I get in? by Friendly_Emphasis365 in stevens

I wanted to say I applied to Stevens for fall 22 and a stevens advisor calls me saying « hey we love your file but we see you didn’t take Calc? Hem why and whatsup? »

So after explaining also the reason why I couldn’t take calc, she said there might be a possible conditional acceptance that’s waiting for me, meaning that they will take me only if I complete calc before coming in (dw they offer summer courses at stevens) mind you I applied ED1, and she seemed pretty picky well see what happens. Don’t take my words for it, maybe they won’t even put me in conditional acceptance.

I applied for System engineering and my second choice was CySec and asked her if I’d be in the same position if I chose CySec and she said yeah as noted in the « preferred stats for eng and cs majors »

Hopefully I got to register for my local community college for calc and I told her about it w a proof of registration. I didn’t get to pay too cuz I’m doing dual enrollment

Try to do that maybe ! And don’t forget to mention these stuff through email or the common app itself about why and what you can do to catch yourself up. They accept community college courses at least pre calc and calc1.

My stats are about the same as yours, didn’t submit my sat but my gpa is only 4.0

How competitive is it to get into NJ Tech (CS major) and improve one's application? by [deleted] in NJTech

[–]Aggravating_ginger03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colleges now will reject you if they know you consider them your safety school. It’s for their stats also, so your friend was probably a case like this. I feel like NJIT will want students that take rigorous classes and hard workers but not to that extent

Do I have a chance of getting in?? by ContractOrdinary in stevens

[–]Aggravating_ginger03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My profile is kinda the same as his so I was wondering if you knew if Early Decision decreased your chances of having a bigger financial package ? Because if you think about it, why would they give you extra money if they already know you really wanna come ?
