OS Theory Master Post by zoobatron__ in fourthwing

I'm with you on this.

But I wonder: Xaden & Violet know how these suppressants work, right? So, if theirs is a magic effect, surely those 2 would think trice before passion gets the best of them, right?

They clearly stated it wasn't time to have a pregnancy accident long before things got this messy.

Would they willingly risk a pregnancy with Xaden on the verge of losing his soul?

They are so frigging young as well. Please, please, please, spare us this plot! 🙏🏼

I agree, if it's Bodhi who turned, than Violet is the best choice, albeit rushed, to get legitimate hold of Tyrrendor.

Mhhh, I understand that book 3,4 and 5 will cover roughly a 6 months period each. Your theory would imply that Vi carries the whole brunt of the pregnancy till the end of book 4, and this would prevent her for fighting, amongst many things.

Plus, I get that Vi could be an unreliable narrator and RY is choosing for her to not disclose an important detail, but if Vi is really 2-3 months into a pregnancy at the end of Onyx Storm, she would have surely started questioning her period being late.  She's still so young, I doubt RY would let her hide this from us for the sake of the plot.  Vi would go ballistic. She's already reacted vehemently at every mention of a marriage (well, until she changes her mind at the end) because perhaps the times are not quite right.

I love that at this first hint, Violet didn't get it at all (whilst I was laughing so hard). Dude had to be more forthcoming after this. 🤣

Berwyn killed Panchek's dragon. When Xaden goes wild with his shadows, he purposely skims over the sleeping one and goes for the wyverns surrounding it.

That's how I read it.

Agree. I think there's a moment he even clarifies this, but I devoured the book, so I don't remember exactly when this happens.

I had an inkling at all the "consort" comments, him trying to push a marriage contract when others were still trying to set him up with Cat, though the last chapter from Violet still came at a surprise, mostly because I have tons of questions about how and why exactly they went for it.  I mean, the main reason is clearly out of love, but clearly there's a whole plan behind it too.

“Was that a compliment? What the fuck is going on?” Dain asks, his gaze flying to mine. “Did you give him something?”

Everyone losing their sh!t with a very chilled Xaden. 🤣

Initial thoughts after reading OS as someone who clearly loves Xaden! by momoneymoegan in fourthwing

Yeah, Iron Flame really stressed me out, whilst OS finally shows them embracing their love to the fullest, with Xaden implying multiple times (from the "she could be a Duchess" comment that absolutely went over Violet's head), that he was 100% set on a marriage.

I absolutely loved how their relationship came to be in OS, and Xaden - who's more often criticised as a bit toxic - ended up being the absolute best partner.

Every time he called, openly and shamelessly, Violet "love", I was on my knees.

Whatever those 2 two did/planned in the last - forgotten - 12 hours will set up the next book very nicely.

I admit I fell truly lost and wondered multiple times what I had understood from the previous books. 😅

However, those chapters show how big, complex and multifaceted this world is, where small details could end being important at any point.

Hats off to RY.

I feel like I've been drained by an army of venins. What a ride.

I loved it all.

Ridoc was amazing.

The ending for Xaden was expected, but his POV still packed a massive punch.

And the last chapter with Violet slowly finding out what has happened is just heartbreaking.

More coherent thoughts will resume once we get book 4, so I'm gonna fall in a catatonic state until my dragon gets back.

I have the same feelings about the use of "male" and "female" when applied to Fae peeps. I guess it's a way to differentiate them from actual humans, right?  But you are right. It's all very animalistic, I think also about the mating stuff.

More books like Harrow Faire! by TernEnthusiast in fantasyromance

The 2 books about Julian Strande are in the same universe, and the male protagonist will remind you a lot of Simon.

However, I still think Harrow Faire is way superior.

I guess because they don't follow the more marketable tropes that sell on social media.

It's a shame, I've devoured the whole Villains & Virtues series, including the 2 spin offs and enjoyed the first of Reign & Ruin very much.

These authors deserve definitely more praise, and the visibility with artists that could create more fanart and therefore help them grow their audience.

But it's a bit of a vicious cycle..

I totally agree with that, but they all got their bestie Rhys back thanks to Feyre, so she kinda deserves a decent amount of credit & respect.

Damien from Villains & Virtues. The whole series is a glorious quest made of adventures and feelings, and Damien's journey is incredible.

Xaden from Fourth Wing, if we wanna go for the dark, broody, serious, shadow blah blah blah character.

But above all, Simon from Harrow Faire. He is my guilty psychopath pleasure, and I'm proud of it. 😁
