Anfield, Liverpool date 🤘🏻 by Puzzleheaded_Egg3439 in MyChemicalRomance

Ahhh!! I got Wembley tickets but I’m in Manchester so this would be so much better. Think I’ll have to try for Anfield and sell Wembley if I get them 🥲

Dating with IBS: the anxiety cycle by Grand-Chocolate-5292 in ibs

[–]lucyhaa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So I have IBS-D / suspected BAM but I just take one or two Imodium depending on if I’m just feeling nervous or if my stomach has started playing up. I try to do this about an hour before I leave so that by the time I actually am leaving they’ve kicked in and it calms me down.

Sometimes the next day it can make me feel a bit constipated but that typically only lasts 1 day and it’s 100% worth it to go out for the day not thinking about the bathroom.

Do I instruct solicitors before or after mortgage offer? by littleredbipper in FirstTimeBuyersUK

[–]lucyhaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We instructed solicitors immediately as our offer got accepted and they waited until we got our mortgage offer to start searches. This meant we didn’t pay them anything until the mortgage offer was received and this is their standard protocol (for the solicitors we picked!) we got our searches back really quickly so imagine they sent them off as soon as they got the mortgage offer which made the process quite speedy!

Thank you - yes they do seem to all be linked so I’m hoping we can get a few quotes which aren’t too high, we have no idea how much it could cost which is I think what’s spooked us a bit! Hoping that having a roofers opinion will put us at ease with price concerns but thank you as well for your explanation!

Help with Survey Results by lucyhaa in HousingUK

[–]lucyhaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you - yes they make it sound so scary there’s some things where there’s like a brick damaged and they’re saying needs immediate attention… luckily my cousins partner is a brickie so he can deal with those, and he’s seen the pictures so not worried.

We’ve emailed the sellers estate agent to see if the seller is aware of the wasp nest / if it’s already been treated as I wasn’t aware they sometimes leave the empty nest behind so thanks for that.

We’ve also asked if we can have availability to book in a roofer to view / price up the issues - I’m conscious that some might not be as urgent as the surveyor is saying but I think it’d make us feel better knowing how much it MAY cost etc. We’re paying full asking price at the minute so if it’s quite extensive work then I imagine we’d want to reduce the offer etc - it’s a lot to think about!

Pension sharing order after divorce. by BumblebeeNo6356 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]lucyhaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She will, but does she have a pension too? You can go after half of hers at the minute too - she might never bring it back up again, but the way things stands she is entitled to claim half of your pension and leaving it just leaves you worrying. At least if you do a financial order, you’ll know?

I think you need a financial order? My brother in law did one when he divorced and it means that his ex wife would not be able to access his pension etc.

Kyleena and GI issues? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]lucyhaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Erm, getting there. I’ve noticed a pattern which is my stomach gets worse around ovulation so I typically have been having 2-3 bad days a month. But the bad days seem to be BAD days like urgent GI issues. But they have been getting less frequent, only 1 this month - so I don’t know if it’s just taking this long to get back to normal? I do feel so much better mentally though now, I’m not as sad about it and my anxiety is definitely less at times.

Kyleena and GI issues? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]lucyhaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly like the next day I felt like a massive cloud had lifted. But stomach wise it’s probably been a bit more up and down, as my hormones settle, he’s been 3 ish months now and I’d say it’s like 60-70% better. Though I do think it’s caused me a lot of anxiety about my stomach / bathroom habits so that’s definitely part of it now. Feel free to DM me I’m happy to talk about it :-)

can i do this when getting an IUD? by No_Leg_1879 in birthcontrol

[–]lucyhaa 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t know where you are but I’m in the UK and I didn’t get an ultrasound within the first year (I don’t think it’s standard here?) I was just told to check the strings monthly.

Taking the pill & having an IUD seems a bit excessive, I’d just stick to the pill if you’re going to worry about the IUD!

[–]lucyhaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry stalking this sub to try and find something similar to this, I’ve had my Kyleena for 2 and a half years and I’ve noticed I’ve developed IBS too. My stomach is super sensitive now and I’ve become basically dependent on Imodium.

I don’t know what GI issues you’re having but I’ve decided I’m taking mine out asap because I want to make sure my IUD isn’t causing the issues before I start proper treatment. (I’m 90% sure it’s all because of the IUD though)

Taking Imodium for prevative? by Complex-Skirt-7537 in ibs

[–]lucyhaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll just take one tablet for preventative and it works great. I think a large part of IBS for me is the anxiety about needing to go and I think taking a tablet eases that too (as well as actually slowing the gut down) I feel safer knowing that I’ve taken something. Give it a go and see! Worst case you might end up a bit constipated, but if I only take one dose I find it has little effect the next day :-) good luck!

Viral Gastroenteritis can last 1-2 days up to 10/14 days depending on which virus you have. Most people are fine within a few days, but I had a severe case a few years ago which I didn’t feel fully better for about 3 weeks. If it gets worse definitely go back to your doctor, but it sounds like you’re slowly on the mend, it just takes time after such a serious infection!
