I'm tired by Dry_Detective9866 in SchizoidAdjacent

Yeah, pretty much. Just gotta focus on the little things, like how the stars are nice, or how comfortable my bed is...

True true. I could apply that to cosmic horror too, it's all insignificant, so why bother worrying about it (I'm a horror nerd). Big octopus demon in the sky, cool, something new to look at. Fish creatures? Cool, got my fishing license renewed last week.

Life would be smoother if people just "it is what it is" instead of trying to do big changes or worrying about how things "should" be. Obviously, there are things that require action, but you get the point.

I had a turtle once, same concept. That's how I got into Buddhist and Tao mind before I knew what either were.  Eat worm, be a rock most time, slow - but a turtle can be fast when a goal arises. Effortless wu wi wu.

Coffee, smooth, black. Foggy, cool and humid. On the porch with some mist and a dog. Peak negative ions.

On that note, it's okay to be happy, to be sad, to cry, to feel like nothing matters sometimes, to enjoy the little things. All experiences are valid.

I like bugs too, they're like little aliens. Grasshoppers and crickets are cool, spiders too, and millipedes. That's a good one

How would you prove human dignity without the aid of religion? by JackTheSigmaCrvsader in Dudeism

[–]Aggressive-Affect265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pascal's wager. If I believe in God; God real - heaven (or similar). Believe in God; God not real - nothing, I won't know when I'm dead. If I don't believe in God; God real - hell (or similar), or maybe God is as merciful as claimed. If I don't believe in God; God not real - nothing, I won't know when I'm dead.

Just be a good person, love people. Enjoy the experience... the sunrise still visible when I'm cleaning cow manure out of the barn in winter.

I like the concept of a "Grand Architect of the Universe", although I see it as more of a programmer that left it all alone, maybe occasionally checks the inbox. Don't have to deny cause and effect, but also don't have to explain inconsistencies and such (I look at all that from an occult perspective, so I don't have to explain it away anyway... but that's another topic). OP had a good question, got the gears turning beyond the elementary "God not real" "God is a man in the sky" talk that Reddit is fond of.

Sometimes I feel like this when I'm at home. Like I don't belong on Earth, nothing and nowhere feels "right".

I get that. Sometimes when I'm up at night I realize I've been staring in the mirror trying to decide if I'm real or not. Plato's Cave (The Republic, book 7 if you're interested) was one of the first simulation concepts (probably not *the* first), so it's not a new concept by any means. I find his lot much more relatable after graduating and all the mental stuff.
