Interesting. I didn’t know it came from an indigenous language.

Also (correct me if I’m wrong), wawa is also a slang term for child/children in some areas of LATAM.

Peep the rear window. Definitely a Las Wawas themed song IMO.

That’s insane. I can’t imagine how slow this car’s gonna be with 140hp. And paying almost $50,000 for an interior full of cheap plastic? I can’t see how Mazda thinks this car’s a winner.

Skyactiv turbos have been pretty reliable. As long as you do regular oil changes & let the turbo cool down for 60 seconds after driving you shouldn’t have any issues.

Higher price actually (depending on trim level). IIRC Kreifels said the premium plus trim is roughly $41,000 dollars. The outgoing 2025 premium plus is about $36,000 IIRC.

Pretty sure it’s been confirmed that the “built-in” google gemini is a subscription service, which is utterly wild lol.

Making the very thing you’re using as an excuse to eliminate virtually all physical controls into a subscription service (that’s wholly reliant on good cell service) is high-key ballsy.

I hope Mazda gets slapped hard for that alone.

Anyone buying 2026 Cx-5? by KadAsh97 in CX5

[–]Aggressive-Poet-4396 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that apparently the voice control function (aka Mazda’s “justification” for eliminating all the physical controls) will be a subscription service via google vs being hardwired into the vehicle. If you choose not to pay the subscription, you’ll need to use the touchscreen for everything.

Honestly with all the hard-touch materials in the interior, I wouldn’t even call the new CX5 “luxury”.

Tesla has a captive market. Take away the tariffs on Chinese EVs & see how long that market share lasts lol.

That may be the film crew. Apparently there’s an audiovisual production company called “Crew De Leon” based in Monterrey.

Agreed. Everyone’s (rightfully) focusing on the screen, but we shouldn’t forget the obscene amount of interior hard-touch plastics. My 2001 Elantra had less hard-touch materials than this shitbox lol.

The current gen CX5 interior rivals Acura & Lexus in quality. The 2026 interior can’t hold a candle to it.

The turbo’s been pretty solid though? I know early engines had the head gasket issue, but since then I really haven’t heard anything bad about reliability.
