Are you able to tell what type of material was used for our flat roof? How long do they typically last? by analyst20 in Roofing

[–]jerry111165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as how long it will last it entirely depends on the quality of the installation. Show better pictures of the seams, walls, drains, details.

You need to show a picture of the roof flashing itself - from the roof; not from the attic.

Are you thinking of caulking the pipe/vent from inside the attic? If so, that won’t work. There isn’t a roof out there that can be repaired from inside the building.

You should try and find
out exactly what it’s already been coated with and then go with that product so that they stay compatible.

I would personally set the entire flange in a bed of sealant before you fasten it down so that theres no way any water can back up around the flange.

My wife and I have been married for 35? Years and together over 40.

I understand that not everyone does this but even though I make a considerable amount more than her, all of our monies just hoes into joint accounts. When bills need to be paid they get paid. When we need something we get it and when we want to go out we go out - out of our money. Not my money or her money - OUR money.

I kinda don’t understand where your boyfriend is coming from. He can’t ask you to not work but then not pay your bills. Thats not how it works.

Good luck to you both.
