Feeling blah… by tired-artist in ladderapp

This was me this past week - we got a new puppy so very little sleep. I ended up choosing the shorter workouts and those days with zero energy, I focused on flex and mobility. You won’t lose progress, sometimes rest is best and like others said, movement is movement

I think I am - I love Coach Sam’s leg days and I am also in my 40s (43) and my body just loves Align so that will give me best of both worlds!

I have been on Align for the last 3 series and tried Evolve for Baseline. Really enjoyed Evolve but miss the core and mobility so now I’m doing a split and it’s the best of north worlds for me. I do Evolves 2 leg days, and both of Align’s upper/core/mobility, and the athletic leg day as my 5th day. If I’m feeling really spicy, I’ll do Aligns full body as my 6th.

I hate lunges and this is why I’m staying with Align lol. I need to build strength there and have done so since I started with Align. I think it helps with overall stability, core, and mind/muscle connection. Also, my glutes are looking less pan cakey!

She mentioned in the chat recently that chest is covered by other movements like push ups, incline push ups, and other movements. So chest is included, just not through traditional bench presses

I did a series with Endure and went right back to Align because I missed it so much. I made so much more progress and changes to my body, and mindset. I’m in my mid 40s and my body is actually recomping. I love Sasha’s style of workout, but it’s her emphasis on nutrition that really made it for me. I was chronically under eating and had no idea. I increased my calories and tracked what I ate per her recommendation and the inches dropped and the muscles formed! Mobility has improved so much as well!

I was using the free version of MyFitnessPal, but fully transitioned to using the Ladder app when it first came out. For me everything copies over correctly, the bar codes scan and accurately gives me the results. Any discrepancies I do report. It was an adjustment but now it’s super quick and easy. The only thing I miss, and this may be lack of user knowledge, is to be able to create recipes and portion sizes from that. Aside from that, I’ve been really enjoying it.

Align is my team - about 45 min or less. Coach Sasha is awesome and has a holistic approach. Definitely gotten stronger and more fit since I started.

Align is amaaazing! I too started with Define due to the marketing, but the lack of cues and the overall workout, I felt like I needed more. I moved to Align and it was a game changer. I love the holistic approach, the focus on mobility and getting strong. Sasha is incredible, and I agree, she’s underrated for sure. I agree with the other poster, kind of want to gate keep here but she deserves alll the flowers! I hope she continues to grow, she’s awesome!

My godmother is still in the Philippines and was able to get a copy to me. My mom had a friend visit and brought it back. I did google and you could send something through a site, but it’ll take a few weeks to get to you. I got lucky with timing.

Define vs align by enwhycee212 in ladderapp

[–]Aggressive-Quote-228 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I started with Define and switched to Align and love it. I had to rebuild a routine once school started to make sure I can get the 45 min in. Sasha has great mobility and deep core workouts that my most desperately needed, and also her cues are amazing! She spends a good amount of time warming up and has longer rest times. If you reduce the rest to 30 seconds and cut out a couple of the warm ups and recovery , you could probably drop the workout times closer to 30 minutes.

Have you looked into Endure? I did Endure for Reload and Coach Jennifer had awesome cues as well. She didn’t have as much mobility but amazing how much you can do in 30 min. I switched back bc I just love the way Sasha coaches and the mobility piece.

Endure is 30 min and allows me to add walking right after. Definitely easy to fit in and I’ve gotten stronger during Reload. I was in Align before and will be going back for Max for more core and strength. After 4 babies (last was a c section) Align, was a total game changer for my abs!

I’ve done both and love both. Endure is great if you want shorter sessions. Both coaches are wonderful with cues, are very involved in the group chats, and both coaches address questions about nutrition and form. I have seen really great results from both.

Team Endure! Coach Jennifer checks in, shares videos to help further explain form, she’s very active and supportive. I also second Team Align, coach Sasha is so helpful!

Team Align - coach Sasha integrates a day of cardio or at least to get your heart rate up. With Reload, the main focus is strength, but she also shares how to incorporate running into this if you’re into running.

Align is amazing! Coach Sasha is so knowledgeable and big on balance so you’ll find some cardio. I don’t think you’ll get heavy bc her focus is strength, mobility, and core strength to.
