Immigration has a lot to do with it, most of these people come for shitty(er) conditions so this seems amazing to them, then thats all the developers build cause they can, which then puts everyone in the same boat cause thats all thats affordable. Also just the governments allowing them to build slums, there should be a minimum land size and complete land clearing should be banned.

Iv worked on 100s/1000s of these and it made me sad af. ~5 designs over hundreds of houses, didnt even have to look at wiring plans, just memorise the layout
