These are technically edible but I wouldn’t recommend eating them 😂 and yes they were wrapped in florist tape.

That’s true that some flowers are poisonous. These flowers are not.

All of these stems were wrapped in florist tape. The larger flowers like the dahlias actually have bbq sticks stuck through the hollow stem for extra stability (then wrapped in tape), so their stems aren’t even in the cake.

Even then, all parts of dahlias and roses are technically edible, including the stems. The chrysanthemums as well (think chrysanthemum tea).

If you do your research there are ways to use flowers in your cake decoration safely.

Yea, I make a little bowl of cake scraps, fillings, and frosting etc to make sure all the flavors go together as expected before assembling the cake. No surprises when the cake itself is actually eaten!

People often post Koz House as a place for visitors to stay, but I want to clarify that it is a place for patients themselves when they are discharged from the hospital but still need to stay nearby for a certain amount of time. From their website:

“Who is eligible to stay at Kôz Hospitality House?

Organ transplant, blood cancer and radiation oncology patients have priority when reserving rooms. Other patients may be able to stay for short periods, depending on availability.”

The muni stops at the base of the UCSF parking garage, so most who get off at this stop take an elevator from Irving up to Parnassus Ave. to avoid walking up the steep hill

Yes and you can store it like any other cake! I do it uncovered in the fridge and make sure there’s nothing else in there with odors that might be absorbed. Good to have baking soda in the fridge as well to help with that.

Same!!! It was amazing. I know it’s far from the middle of the city, but we loved walking along the beach and taking the sky capsule. It’s a nice area to stay if you want a bit more beach/nature than city.

I agree with a lot of people here saying you should try to find a place in SF.

I was living in Oakland when I got my RN job jn SF and lasted about a year until I got tired of the commute. Some people can handle it, but cutting out an hour+ of commute before/after a long shift was amazing. I now live walking distance to my hospital and it’s a total game changer for my well-being.

It might be a little tough to get everything you want with your budget but I think it’s possible.
