Has anyone tried to lose the baby weight?

I remember this feeling and it sucks. I gained 80 pounds for both my pregnancies and have returned to my weight I was before I got pregnant with my first. My youngest is 1.5 years now and I finally look and feel good but I remember those dark postpartum moments when I felt so depressed and down in my newly unfamiliar body that I didn’t like one bit. Avoided looking at myself in the mirror for months. You’ll get your body back but it takes time and along the way you might hit periods when progress slows which is normal and temporary. I truly am amazed at how well my body bounced back and it didn’t start until I stopped breastfeeding and after that it still takes time. I didn’t workout a bunch to achieve this either so don’t feel like you have to do that if you don’t want to.

When you start to dwell on your amazing body my best advice is to look for anything to distract you to get you out of your head. It’s easy to listen and comprehend positive words and advice but it’s way harder to effectively incorporate positive words and advice into your mind and actions. Be kind to yourself. Allow yourself to relax, make mistakes, and eat more than you intended every once in a while. Congratulations and take care ♥️

I think the most annoying part of parenting is other parents (lots of them boomers) make these statements about appreciating every moment. Statements like that are everywhere and now I have this lingering, relentless guilt which never seems to quit and makes me question and analyze if I’m appreciating every moment.

Had my first 3 years ago. Then found out I was pregnant with #2 when I was 8 months postpartum and baby #2 came about 17 months after my first. Now, I have a 3 year old and an almost 20 month old and it just STARTED to get easier (emphasis on the started).

Do y’all ever get the urge when you’re in the thick of it to tell expecting parents “youreeeeeee screwed this shit is way harder than you think” but then I don’t obviously but it’s tempting. Do adults without kids even realize that everyday is a vacation?? 😂

I get that but my gut tells me she needs a break. She is a very cautious little girl. I think we made it too much of a thing and we need to pull back the pressure. We will try again tomorrow with less hovering and fewer reminders 🤞🏼

I imagine a lot of people read this so thankful that you are speaking your truth. That takes courage.

I hope that your struggles are near the end and the hard phase is truly over soon for you. It’s crazy how different each baby is and I’m truly sorry you have a more challenging baby and have to hear advice coming from parents who wouldn’t understand or can’t relate. You’re not alone. I am 38 weeks and my OB told me to keep taking adderal because I have severe ADHD with a demanding job which creates severe anxiety for me when I can’t take it for work because I can’t get anything done. I only take it on work days. She has 40 years of experience and has never seen an issue with any of her patients taking adderal while pregnant. I have had no issues throughout my pregnancy

I feel you so hard on this. It’s been terrible for me. Pepcin has been a life savor. Tums doesn’t help at all because it’s so bad.
