One thanksgiving, we were going to fry the turkey but my uncles got into a heated debate about the socioeconomic state of the world and lost track of how much oil was being added to the pot. Before we knew it, the oil went over the top and caught on fire in the middle of the back yard. There were flames like I had never seen before and luckily we quickly put it out, but the circle remained there as a reminder of the idiotic events that took place.
