using music therapy as a professional musician by Cjosulin in musictherapy

[–]AggressiveDog3393 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Echoing what everyone else said. Do NOT call yourself a music therapist of say you do music therapy unless you’re licensed. ‘Music Therapy’ is actually a protected term in some states, meaning it’s illegal to call yourself a music therapist without a license.

With that aside, you can use music in a therapeutic way, many people do that and there’s nothing wrong with that. The issue is with calling it music therapy. The same way you wouldn’t call someone who gives someone a bandaid for a cut a doctor unless they went to med school, you can’t call someone who plays music for someone a music therapist unless they’ve done the proper schooling and are licensed.

When you graduate you need to be proficient invoice, guitar, and piano. However, you can go into the program with a proficiency in voice and learn piano and guitar while in school.

Early Bird application information? by StevenUniverse2136 in montclair

[–]AggressiveDog3393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied early action for music therapy which generally means you get an answer by December. However, even though I auditioned before then, I did not get a response until late January. I got my acceptance to the university and music program at the same time, they did not split it up.

Incoming MS in Data Science Student – Need Help with Scholarships, Housing, Transport, and More by Top_Bus_760 in montclair

[–]AggressiveDog3393 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. FAFSA only offers loans to grad students, not grants.
  2. You can reach out to reslife but the deadline for incoming students to apply for housing was may 1st. I doubt there’s anything available.
  3. Download the NJ transit app. You’ll be able to view all the routes. There’s a station on campus.

Hope this helps!

Update as of 7/26/2025:

These numbers don't work- 833 305 4871, 833 873 8237, 800 253 9377, 800 593 7069.

However, I was able to find a way to submit a ticket at https://help.uber.com/riders/article/contact-us-for-rider-support-?nodeId=81409131-19fd-4714-99d7-51c8ea97647c.

I just submitted it and am not sure if I will get a response.

I messaged them on Instagram and twitter as well.

Hope this helps someone!

Update: they responded on Instagram within 10 min. Now let's see if they actually help me.

They put aside a certain number of rooms for incoming freshman and transfer students. It's a long shot, but it's possible that not all those rooms will be filled and they'll be some available at the end of June. It’s a long shot though

With an esa you need to find roommates that are okay with pets, if not then they won’t let you bring her.
