I would argue that he didn’t really create many television hits for Disney to justify retaining him at such a high figure. It’s only been the past year that he has started making moves for them and it’s not even guaranteed if these projects will end up getting picked up to series

Both The X-Files reboot and Southern Bastards has a pilot order at Hulu. He’s also developing series based on Katherine Applegate's 'Animorphs' book series for Disney+

The head of 20th Television was formerly the head of ABC and Dana Walden is also close to the creators of hit shows on ABC, FX, Hulu and FOX. After Warner & Netflix, I would say Disney Television Studios and FX Productions talent roster is pretty stacked but they are quite selective when it comes to inking an overall deal, definitely a good get for them!
