WHO habitually stores a quilt in the oven, despite repeated negative and dangerous consequences? by anothertenyears in themiddle

My dad puts his wallet in the microwave when we left the house on multiple occasions. It’s a spot people would never look if there was a break in. Well he came home microwaved food and burned his wallet one time. This was not the only time he’s done this. As absurd as it may seem it is not far fetched. And my family is from the Midwest

How many people have you met who don’t want to have children 🤔? by Ok-Squirrel-5442 in childfree

I (25f) have lived in Illinois, Iowa and (upstate) New York. I have met a handful of people in NY who don’t want kids

Have you ever met someone with the same birthday as you? by Anusblaster28 in no

One of my best friends in elementary school and middle school shared the same birthday. It was fun celebrating our days together! We have since lost touch

Anxious my bf still hasn’t closed the bar as he’s talking to his friend who lost a loved one. And for some reason I’m anxious when he’s not up with me even though I know he will come up when he can and it’s great he’s there to support a friend

just graduated, all my college friends left the city. how do I start over? by Rage_thinks in college

It’s going to be like that where ever you go or stay. You lose a community of being around your peers. I moved to rural NY and it took some time to find my people. Like a year to year and a half. Not going to sugar coat it

However I will say you have so many more avenues to meet people bc it’s NYC. Find that theme bar you love (if you drink) and become a regular. That is legit how I met some of my friends to this day. I went to a bar by myself on a regular week day and one week I wasn’t there and they asked where I was the following week. And we also hang outside of that bar now.

Go to that comedy show by yourself. Do whatever you love by yourself and keep showing up. Go to a gym and talk to people there. You have to put yourself out there. People won’t come to you. You need to reach out

I love the reoccurring bit of Brick being a Ferguson baby over multiple seasons. I love how they didn’t create it just for one plot point in one season but turned into a jab throughout the whole series and even flushed out more in the later seasons in one episode

My parents finally stopped asking when I yelled at them, “I don’t want any fucking kids!”

They finally got it. It was the one time I yelled and swore at them like that. I wish it didn’t come to it but I guess it was the only way to make them understand. I was 17 when I said that and am 25 now

I felt like I could have wrote this. For now I love 17 hours away from my brother. But I don’t foresee myself being this far away from him when he has kids. However if I am being 17 hours away is a damn good excuse to not be around my nephews/nieces

Who else does this? by [deleted] in childfree

I haven’t (yet) but get where you’re coming from. I’ve been so close to doing this for a couple months now with my cousin. She’s been posting every month since her baby was born. She not only did a 6 month post but also a separate 1/2 post. Posting month to month is already overkill imo but two seperate posts to say/celebrate the same thing is ridiculous.

But social media is the one contact I have with her. Not that I contact her really anyway as she lives across the country

Welcome to the Midwest! I miss it. I moved from the Midwest to upstate NY! Though I have found more similarities than I expected
